Vacation Homes for Rent

Hello Everyone,

My DH & I are members at SSR. However, a friend asked me what are good reputable companies/inidviduals to deal with as they want to rent a house this Christmas to go to WDW. I explained that Kissimee & Orlando would be good choices.

Any suggestions from 'the experts' as to what inidvidiuals or companies they should be dealing with? We live in a remote part of Northern Canada (the Arctic..think Polar Bears!) so we could really use your help. There will be about 10 people all together.

I don't know of any companies, as I have never used any. I have seen some on here that are recommended, but I've always done it by contact with an owner. Here are some good sites that give you an idea of where each community is and has descriptions about each home. It usually costs less to rent direct with an owner than through their management company.

I like this one www.onlinefloridavillas.com as they are all owner verified by the website. A sister site is also www.orlandovillas.com. There are also forums on the first one and you can ask questions or just read to find out information.

p.s. Be aware that when you use the above for a search, you need to be very specific about what you want (# of bedrooms, pool direction, alarm or not, games room, etc) and then you won't get as many replies. You will get a TON of replies from this site (which is ok if you are prepared!!). I created a separate email account to use so that it didn't bog down my regular "stuff".

We're from Nova Scotia and there's 11 of us going in Nov. We've rented a 6 bedroom house in Windsor Hills. The house was just completed in May. I've stayed in WH twice before in townhouses and really like the resort. It's very close to Disney: 5 min to AK and a little more to the rest of the parks. but there's also many available on www.vrbo.com and www.homeaway.com (Kissimmee area). We always rent directly from the owners. You can chose the home that has the floor plan, amenities, decor etc. that suits your needs.

I like these sites as they are easy to use, you put in the dates you want and it gives you the villas that are available. You can then narrow down your search.

Highgate Park is a particular favourite of ours, but we also like Solana resort

I can suggest u that u can rent a home through springvactionrentals.com, as we have booked, "Windsor Palms Resort" , Resort-Style gated community,. we had a great time and a very pleasant atmosphere during our stay at kissimmee. The administration is co-operative, i think u can have a graet time.
