I guess I am supposed to receive my vacation documents at 21 days prior to my arrival date. How are these delivered? UPS, Fed Ex or snail mail? I am at day 21 today and still nothing.

You got a package (not just hotel-only)?

Ours were delivered UPS. We were not given advance warning, until the UPS guy left us a message that he'd be around in x number of hours and required a signature. He turned out to be well ahead of his stated time, and practically as we opened the door to do errands before he would be there, he was there.

They send them out within the week after the time that you make your final payment (even if you paid well ahead of that, they wait until then to send them). It's possible you could call the travel company you bought the package from and they could give you the tracking info; worth a try!

But if they aren't here today they probably won't be until at least Tuesday, b/c I don't think ours was delivered using the sat-delivery service, and they might be taking Monday off.

Mine have always been delivered by Fedex or UPS and they have always required a signature. But I can't remember exactly how far out we receive them. I would guess that the 21 day window is an estimate and that is the earliest you'd get them...I would not freak out until I was down to 2 weeks and still nothing. But like Molly said you can call and get a tracking number perhaps? GL :)

I didn't get mine till 15 days and was freaking out. :scared1:But all was well the ups guy couldn't find us, he was new and we live in the deep country on a private road.
They required a signature and it was so fun to rip open the box! Better than Christmas :)

Thanks guys, I decided to call reservations and I got a UPS tracking number...they should be here by Tuesday!! I can't wait!!

Mine were delivered exactly 21 days out, UPS Next Day Air. I got multiple phone calls from UPS telling me I would have a package delivered the next day which required a signature. Pretty exciting.

Marilyn, when exactly r u going? I was born and raised there, (just actually got back from visiting family)

Born and raised in Santa Cruz? Cool! We will be in DL from June 13-18th. My daughter graduates from Aptos High next week and I am taking her and 3 of her friends down to DL as her Birthday/ graduation present. We are die hard Disney fans...as are most on this board! We usually go down to Disney 3 times per year but the economy has kept us home and it has been a year and a half since we have been. I am jones'in for Mickey big time! I can't wait!!

Typically, the Walt Disney Travel Company sends the documents out 21 days in advance, and they say that they should be received 14-18 days before the arrival date. They used to be sent via FedEx, but are now sent UPS.

That is so sweet of you!

I'm not 100% sure if it's the correct high school, but if your daughter knows a freshman (ending frosh year, soph next year) cheerleader named Cady...that's my half-sis. :)

My dad's lived in Santa Cruz since I was around 5, now lives in the woods of Aptos...

I can't wait! I just called VP and they told me my documents were sent out on the 21st! We leave the 13th! They were sent to my home in Palm Beach where my mom lives. I told her when it arrived she "better not open it!!!" We're like little girls! :cutie: I want to open it when I get there!
:cheer2:

 Do you think that would be a bad idea to not open it or are there things in the package that need to be responded to immediately or anything like that? :confused3 I live in Gainesville for school and will be headed down to Palm Beach on the night of the 11th, a couple nights before we actually leave.

LOL I am a graduate of Aptos High Class of 1995!!
Just got back from attending the Memorial Day Air Show in Watsonville and the Padres Pancake Breakfast in Corralitos

OMG! That is too funny! We live in Watsonville. The weather was pretty dismal here for the airshow. I gasped when I saw that fighter jet making banking turns on Saturday...that thing was a monster in the sky! We finally saw sunshine and clear skies at around 3:30! We call this weather 'June Gloom', lots of morning fog or clouds that don't clear out until late afternoon!! I hate it. I am a sun lover! My son graduated from Aptos in 1999 and now lives in LA...he's not much of a Disney fan though. So Minuet888 I see you are new to this website. What CA town do you live in now?

Bumbershoot - sorry, my daughter doesn't know any freshman.

i just got mine on Thursday and we go June 11th. It came UPS 2nd day mail. I got a call from UPS at 730AM letting me know I would be getting a package I would have to sign for. If no one was home it would not be left but a note would be from UPS.

Wow, that's suprising that they called you ahead of time. How nice! :)

It will be a problem for my situation since my mom works during the day, which is when they come to leave the documents. No one will be home during the day, so idk how that will work. She'll probably have to just go pick it up herself.

What all do they include in the package, if you don't mind me asking?
:)

My family all lives in Watsonville (know where Calabasas Elementary school is) Those fighter jets were close enough to the house to rattle the windows and scare the heck out of my 3 year old.
I live in Modesto now but I have lived in the LA area for the past 8 years though.
My bro graduated (or left his senior year actually) in 1999 and my sis graduated in 2001 all from Aptos High.
This is too funny
It's a Small World After all (come on everybody!) LOL

Well, the plot thickens...I have an uncle who lives in Modesto! I guess our families like living in the same areas of the state! ;) Your brother might know my son then. This forum and others like it can be so fun. I am an active member on Cruise Critics, a site that delves into cruise vacationing and the maniacs, like me, who love to cruise. Anyway, I was on a forum there once and "talking" to someone and it turned out that she also lives in Watsonville and had seen my car around town. My car is pretty distinct with Disney stuff all over it including the license plate! So indeed the internet is vast and yet it proves "It's a small world afterall". :rotfl:

I have a 5 for 3 package reserved for September, room and ticket. I work and am frequently out of town traveling, why do they send documents to the home that have to be signed for? I assumed I would just pickup my ticket at the front desk when I checked in, like they do at WDW. Seems like a waste of money to send UPS unless they included vouchers for transfers or something you would need before arrival.

Related question - are the park tickets on the room key? Or are they separate?

Debbie, not everyone who orders from Disney Travel is staying at a DL hotel. I know we're staying at HOJO but got our tickets through WDT. I was thrilled to get our actual tickets in the mail, and not a voucher we have to go exchange for the tickets. Because there are so many good neighbor hotels at DL, I imagine it's easier just to send thing out rather than trying to get the right documents/tickets to the individual hotels.

As I said, UPS did call me many times to let me know I was getting a package and it required a signature. The call said that if I was not available on the first delivery, they would give me options for rescheduling. I often have to do this because UPS refuses to leave packages on my porch. You can have it delivered to another address, arrange for delivery on a day you know you will be home, or arrange to pick it up from UPS. As to why they require a signature... I'm glad they did. I had over $1000 in tickets in that very small package. I would not have been happy if they had left it on the porch.
