Vaca Packages or Room Only and separate tickets

Hello all,

I am looking for some advice. I am in the process of booking a WDW vacation through an authorized travel agency. Which have you found to be the better bargain?

A. Booking your vacation package, including regular (NOT park hopper) park tickets, with the agency
B. Booking a room only with the agency then purchasing regular park tickets elsewhere

We are planning a 9 day stay for early August 2017.

if you get a good deal on the room - book room only. You can use some of the discount brokers for tickets (make sure that they are authorized Disney Ticket brokers.) The price break on tickets won't be much but unless the travel agency is getting a price break on tickets - you will be paying disney ticket prices. Everything will be linked on your MDE account so it wont really matter where you get the components from.

It really depends on how the agency is booking your tickets. If you are booking a Walt Disney Travel Company package through the agency, you are paying full price for the tickets. If you are booking some type of agency exclusive with the agency, they are most likely working through Disney groups and they will be packaging convention tickets with the room which would offer you about a 10% discount on the tickets.

I would recommend asking the agency for both a package quote and a room-only quote and then looking at ticket prices at a reputable third-party seller (like Undercover Tourist) and then doing the math to see if the agency package or the agency room-only plus third-party ticket will give you the best price.
