Now I have decided to book which would you choose and what if any are the main differences?

Does BA Econ have seat back TV's. We will be flying from Gatwick.

Yes, BA has seat back TVs in both Worold Traveller Plus (Premium Economy)and World Traveller (Economy)

I would choose Premium Economy on Virgin:
- you definitely get dedicated PE check-in with Virgin (don't think you always do with WT+).
- you get a pre-departure drink with Virgin (don't with BA)
- Virgin are currently upgrading the china and catering for PE (with BA you just get a "real glass wine glass", everything else is the same as Economy).
- you get priority baggage delivery with Virgin (don't with BA)
- I think that most Virgin planes now have AVOD (do the Orlando ones have it?), BA probably wont have AVOD on the Orlando planes for another year...

If they were both the same price I'd choose Virgin every time, if BA was dramatically cheaper I'd probably go BA but that's highly unlikely.

:rolleyes1 We have only been BA world traveller plus.
Better seat pitch and more choices in movies etc.
Food looked similar to that in Word Traveller.

This trip in-bound flight we have upgraded to club world!!!! with air miles - not that rich!!!!!

Looking forward to a realyl comfomy bed for sleeping in - cause I was so fidgety last year in WT didn't sleep a wink!

VA PE is better than BA WT+....but like Carol says, if there is a big difference in price, and that is important to you, go with the cheapest.

We do the same - well in both directions. Great use of BA miles, I think :thumbsup2

Have you flown Club World before? If so, you might want to "manage your expectations" regarding the really comfy bed... It is a great seat, it does go completely flat and I get a good few hours of sleep in it... BUT it isn't the most comfortable bed in the world. Also it depends on how big you are - I am only 5'4" and slim frame (and I can sleep in the Club World seats on my back, on my stomach or on my side), tall people with broad shoulders find the seats quite restrictive though.

Not trying to put a damper on it, just want to manage your expectations ;). It is a bit like Business Class food - it is normally pretty good for plane food, but if you compared it to restaurants on the ground... The seats are great and you will have a fantastic flight :thumbsup2 .

Pictures please Boo! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I made the mistake of listening to my i-pod whilst sleeping a year ago and virtually strangled myself with the headphone lead - I had turned over 360' twice in the same direction... :scared1: (suppose you want photos of that too? ;) ).

wellllllll................:rotfl:

The other thing about VA prem ec from LGW is the seating in the upstairs bubble of the plane. Lovely - really private and feels special. Dont forget though that there is also prem ec downstairs on the 747 too and not a patch on the upstairs section. Just to bear in mind on check in.

I prefer VA over BA, I feel they offer a better service all round!:)

Looks like it's Virgin PE for us then - the BA flights are actually more money for when we want to go.

Thanks for the info

This is really good advice. PE in the bubble on the LGW route is what makes it such good value for money, IMHO. I've always likened it to being in your own private function room. It almost makes UC defunct on this route. Being in the downstairs PE cabin (i.e. the space between UC and Economy) really is just a glorified Economy cabin (which, in its defence, I guess is all it aims to be). Make sure you book your seats in advance (either by phone, or online) to be guaranteed of being in the upstairs cabin.

Oh, that's another thing about BA, you can nolonger book your seats in advance (unless you are a BA Gold Card carrier or on a full fare ticket)... So we have flights booked on BA from LGW-MCO-LGW this coming September/October and we can't get any seats allocated until we use online check-in 24 hours before the flight... A BIG step backwards BA :sad2:

All booked - went for Virgin PE and got seats 78 & 79 A & C, though we could pretty much have our pick.

Does anybody if these seats are okay?

79 A & C are at the back and are a good seat :)

We have had these seats in the past and they are great. We also have them requested for our flight to Barbados in 21 days. :goodvibes
