Does anyone have either of these? What are your thoughts and opinions? DH and I are thinking about getting one of these for our twins' birthday present - they'll be 3. We just don't know which one. Thanks for your input!

My youngest has both. We got her the V-tech one Christmas, then realized it wasn't portable, so she got the Smile for her birthday that February.

I vote for the Smile; it's a kiddie verion of a DS-- a handheld game they can play in the car or elsewhere. She still loves it.

Thanks for the quick response. I was just browsing online and saw that there is something called V-Motion. Any thoughts on this? It kind of reminds me of the Wii, but for younger kids.

I saw it the other day in Target.

But my youngest is asking for a DS (like her brother and sister) and we have a Wii (thank you Santa Claus!) so we'll pass on it.

We have a Vmotion at the childrens hospital I work at - the kids really do like it - sometimes the whole motion thing is kinda over their heads, but they dont care!! It has great games like Mickey Mouse clubhouse!!! you can use the regular v-tech games in it as well - do you know if the vmotion games fit into the vsmile? maybe you could do the big system for their bday and then the hand helds for the holidays?
My niece who just turned 3 is really just into holding a remote for the game systems - lol - doesnt really have the idea to move something in her hand moves something on the screen -

We bought the Wonder Pets Vmotion for the pocket Vsmile. Yes they work. DD has both and I think she like the Vsmile better. She has a pair of Kids headphones so I don't have to hear what she is playing!

We bought DD (4) the V Motion for Christmas. I was worried that the "novelty" would wear off quickly, but she's still playing with it. She and her daddy were playing it tonight, as a matter of fact...not sure who likes it more! He says he wants his own controller for Father's Day! :rotfl:

She has 3 cartridges including the one it came with. Her newest is an age 5-7 level, and although some of its too hard for her, she still seems to be learning a lot from it.

The controller works in both motion and "regular" mode, so you can do the jumping around or just play from the couch.

We have the vmotion for our now 4 (he was 3.5 at Christmas when he rec'd it). He likes it and plays with it a couple times a week. He is a bit Thomas obsessed, so he loves to play the Thomas games, but also likes the game it came with. We have the wonder pets game as well and he isn't in to that one as much. He also got a leapster for his 4th birthday and he likes that too - perfect for long car rides and he has the Disney Cars game - that he loves. I would recommend either.

Val.

DD got the Vsmile on her 3rd birthday and it was too difficult for her and me to get the joy stick to move around so I returned it. Last year when she turned 4 we gave her the Vpocket. She loves it.

I was so excited when I read that the vmotion games will work it the pocket. :cool1: I have seen them on clearnace for $5 dollars at Walmart. She would be so excited to get the Mickey Clubhouse one. Thanks for the tip.

One more thing the pocket comes with cables that you can hook up to the tv for them to play from there.

My DS3 plays his VSmile religiously (he has the CyberPocket). In fact, we're on our second one. They're really awesome (smaller learning curve for 3-4 yo's than the Leapster2) but they're made from cheap parts. If you get one, make sure you get one of those replacement plans. It will so be worth the 5 bucks when that 90 days run out.

On a side note, VTech makes the VSmile. :)
