I have a dd that will be 6 tomorrow. We bought her a vsmile for her bday. It was a hit with all dd's 3, 6, 7 and 9 yo would not leave it alone. She has the Little Mermaid, Care Bears and the alphabet game that comes with it. The Care Bears is a little below her age level, but the 3 yo loves it. They all seemed to enjoy the Little Mermaid the best followed by the alphabet game. I have played it myself and did find it to be educational and cute. She has extra money for her bday and will probably buy more games. We are now thinking about getting the 3yo one for Christmas so they will quit fighting over it  . The older ones have enjoyed it to the point that they are now asking for a ps2 or gamecube from Santa. Anyone with a child 3 to 6, the Vsmile gets my vote.

:wave2: Thanks for the information. Santa is bringing my 3 year old DS one for Christmas (along with the Leapster). I'm glad to have a first hand account from someone with a child the same age.

Thanks, I was thinking about this for our older two boys ages 5 and 3... We're looking at the LeapPad and Leapster too...

I was looking at these also for my 5 1/2 year old. Can you tell me if you think it will really be something that she can use for a while?

I know you said a 9 yo was playing but will it really hold interest for a longer time period? say maybe a year or more?

Thanks for the info.

I don't think it will hold her attention for a year. The 9 yo has every game figured out within 10 minutes. The 7 yo sucks the life out of it because it is new and the 6 yo (the birthday girl) has already lost using it for 3 days because she lost a smiley face at school. However, the 3yo is still loving it. If your daughter is learning to read, you may want to get her something more advanced. My 6 yo is only in K5 due to a late bday and does not know how to read yet. My 6 yo is also immature in "playing" with anything or learning anything (I account that to her birth mother keeping her on the couch the 1st 2 years of her life and not letting her play for fear she will get dirty  ) I would definately lean more toward the leapster if your 5 1/2 yo is mature.

PS: I have been playing with the 3yo and I swear, the games are soooo cute!:teeth:

Thanks for the review. Grandma is buying this for my DD, so I'm glad to hear it went over well.

Thanks for the review, we've been tossing around Vsmile, the interactive tv, leapster, the "regular" leappad or just buying a new my first leappad and additional computer games for my 3.5 year old.

He really likes his My First Leappad but the pen doesn't work anymore. I think the Leapster may be too "old" for him. He really loves playstation (even though he can't really play it well) so I was thinking V Smile.
