Given the excellent VH discounts at the moment I am considering changing from TCX to VH.

Can you get access to V Room if you only take a flydrive or do you need to book a package including accomodation. I have checked the website but it is not clear so thought I would check if anyone has used it when doing a flydrive.

AFAIK it is for anyone booking a "holiday" through VH, as you book a VH fly drive the same way as a holiday with accommodation, I cannot see why you won't be able to get access - you just need your booking number I think.

We're booked in for Nov even without a VH package (flying VA), so I think they must be quite flexible. I just went through the Frequent Virgins number to get us booked in.

Thanks for that. Another thing to way up now - do we go from Manchester which is closer but has no facilities, or Gatwick which is further but has VRoom and I can use Tesco CC vouchers to pay for the Hilton.

Not sure the Hilton can be booked with Clubcard vouchers any more - I'm pretty sure it was gone from the Deals options last month when I checked.

It can. There has been quite a long thread on Dibb recently about this. Tesco are still offerring Hilton but for 2 night stays - but if you put the code in on the Hilton website it will accept 1 night at select airport hotels. I have been able to get the Tesco rate for Aug 2009.

Which code are you referring to - I thought the only way you could book it was by phoning the special booking number for Clubcard Deals :confused3 If there is a way to still do it, I would very much like to know as I have been desperately saving my deals tokens for a stay at the Hilton next October.

I think anyone who books with VA can use the V room, around £15 per person, or free if you are in the Virgin flying club
- I used it this summer on a trip to the caribbean, and it is so nice!!
much more relaxed the usual departure lounge, and very nice breakfast snacks & proper coffees.
free internet access too so you could visit the DIS boards before you fly! ;)

OK I was told only if you book through VH not VA! Also wasn't told if you are a flying club member you can get it! How do I go about getting it?

Yes, it's certainly supposed to be exclusively for customers of Virgin Holidays, although as Matt says, we've somehow managed to book it even though we've booked our flights directly with VA. We're Frequent Virgins and we booked by calling them, so maybe that's why we were able to do it. :confused3 We're also Flying Club members, but there's no benefit to be gained from that as far as the V-Room is concerned. VH were offering free entry to anyone who booked with them before 30th April this year (for holidays up to and including April 2009), but there are no current deals that I'm aware of.

Contacted Flying Club and only Gold Members or club members can book it according to them! Very confused

The Frequent Virgin Club on their members website show it as one of there benefits with a 10% off discount - so maybe you can get like that.

We have booked our holiday through VH and have V-room booked :)

I dont know then as the reply I got from the Virgin Frequent Flyer Club was that it was only available to Gold members

There are two 'clubs' there is Flying Club which is Virgin Atlantic and they have the three levels - Red, Silver, Gold and anyone can join this and start as a red member and earn their way up. The second is the Frequent Virgin Club which is Virgin Holidays and this is now by invite only. To be invited you have to have booked twice in 4 years and spent over £6K with Virgin holidays.

The two companies are seperate as are their loyalty programs.

Oh right well we've only booked our flight through VA website so no chance for us but might help other people

There are two lounges. The Virgin Clubhouse which is for UC passengers and Flying Club Gold members, and the V-Room which is for customers of Virgin Holidays.
