Can someone tell me about the chef's table at V and A.? We went there for our anniversary but failed to get the Chef's Table. We would like to get the chef's table this time. I have a couple of questions:

It is only me and DW will there be other people at the CT with us?

What do I have to do to reserve the CHef's table?

Is it actually romantic sitting there or is it more romantic just going to the regular rest.?

Thanks

DH and I have done the Chef's Table twice. We've loved it both times, but it's very different than the main dining room. First, you MUST call at 7:00 am ET 180 days out. There is only one sitting at the Chef's Table each night, and if you aren't the first one to get through, you're out of luck.

It will be only the people in your party- there isn't anyone else with you.

As far as which is more romantic- it's hard to say. They are two completely different experiences. THe dining room is quiet with soft lights, etc. With the CT, you are in the back of the kitchen, you can see everything everyone is doing- it's great. If you have questions, they stop and talk to you and tell you about what they are doing. The level of service is great in the dining room, but it's even better at the CT. And the food- the amount is insane and you get whatever the chef makes for you.

I recommend doing CT at least once if you can. It's an AMAZING experience.

I found the CT pretty romantic...not in a typical way but other than when they serve the food, you're all alone like a little private dining room. We did it for our anniversary last year and really enjoyed it....get the wine pairing, it makes ANYTHING romantic. LOL.

As the others have posted, it will be just you and your DW. It is VERY difficult to get. My DH and I just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at the Chef's Table on April 26th. There were four of us calling to book it 6 months earlier. Our Platinum Planner organizer was able to get us a reservation!:)

We found it to be very romantic as well. It is not as quiet as the main dining room. But they make you feel like you are the most important people in the kitchen. You are truly spoiled! Sometimes my DH and I just sat and watched the kitchen, we didn't even need to speak. Of course we were quiet during all of the eating! ;)

Good luck, I hope that you do get the Chef's Table eventually!
