V&A Questions

Hi - I am rather new to the board but I had a few question about Victoria & Albert's. I have never been there before but was wondering how large the dining room is. Do you know if they take large parties (15-20 people)? Also, I was wondering if anyone knows what the current price is. Thanks in advance!

I think the current price is around $125 per person for 5 courses. If you want to do the wine pairing, that's another $60. Plus they usually have some extra courses, like caviar or foie gras, that you can do for an additional cost.

I've been there 3 times and I honestly can't tell you how many tables there are. It's pretty small, I'd say maybe 12-14 tables. It's a very quiet and intimate space, mostly couples dining for that special romantic evening. We went once as a party of 6 and I know we were the largest party there for that seating (they have 2 seatings per night).

Reservations are done separately than for the other Disney Dining and I'm sure that they'll be able to tell you the max per table. I'd honestly like to know too and was planning to check when we dine there in May because next January, there would be 10 of us and I'd like to go but I'd want us seated together.

They have a side room which can be used for groups. Give them a call.

There is a side room (with a fireplace) for large groups. You will need to call V&A directly and speak to them to see if they can accommodate your large group on the evening you would like. They have to balance large groups like yours against all the other reservations.

Large groups place a huge strain on resources on a restaurant such as V&A.

Thanks so much for your help. My fiance and I both come from larger extended families and all of us wanted to go out for a very nice, adult-only, Disney dinner so this was our first thought.

It is a small room, but I think is normally set for 4 or 5 tables....

I think it should comfortably hold 15 people, 20 people will be close, but HEY...you are family right?

lol - Around food I think more space is needed than not for my family, lol. But I guess I'll see what V&A has to offer!

We were there last week and they said that anything over 10 people they hold in the small private room...and I heard, "off the record," that it's about $1500 for the room.

I would hope it isn't extra, unless you are arranging a purely private function, with special requests, etc. Yours just sounds like the regular V&A dinner, but with a lot of people. We ate in that side room at least twice before--no extra charge! There were 3-4 other couples in the room then as well--we were seated there because our favorite server (Nancy) was stationed there those evenings.

2) Whether you have enough guests or not, you pay at least $1500.
3) However, you get no discounts.
4) All diners pay the normal charges.
5) Tips are extra.

Example:
. . . you have 3 people, then each gets charged $500
. . . you have 30 people, then each pays the normal $125 (wine pairing extra)

This was true a few years ago - there is a private room that can be booked for the first or second seating. We had about 14-15 people in there for our wedding dinner, if memory serves. It might be a bit cramped with 20...? There was a minimum charge for theroom, but with the # of people you're talking about, there is no question you'd hit the minimum. We all had the prix fixe evening menu, and most had it with wine pairing - it was absolutely outstanding by any standards except that on the way in (keep in mind, I was wearing my wedding gown and a veil - had obviously just gotten married), the maitre d' felt it necessary to remind me that it was "an important weekend because it was Super Bowl weekend" so we had better watch our time.... To be honest, once I started eating, I didn't care anymore what he had said....it was SO GOOD.... I would do it again...maybe someday!!

If you call the (407) WDW-DINE number they will give you the option of contacting Victoria & Albert's directly. I'm sure that they can help you with whatever you need.

My DH proposed to me at Victoria & Albert's 11 1/2 years ago. We've been back to the main dining room 3 times since then. And just a couple of weeks ago we were lucky enough to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary at the chef's table. It was fabulous! What a wonderful experience. We will continute to visit Victoria & Albert's through the following years!

I did the simple thing. I called V&A. The reservations number could not give me any data and transferred me to the restaurant's office.

The Private Dining Room can be sectioned off. The maximum capacity is 21 Guests. The minimum charge is $2,100 for food, plus alcoholic beverages, gratuity and tax; this will cover up to 12 people. If there are more than 12 people it is an additional $175 per person, plus alcoholic bveverages, gratuity and tax.

Also, booking of the private room can be done at any time; it can be more than 180 days from arrival.
