DH and I will have one night of no kids! :cool1:

We are not on the dining plan and have already been to CG, Narc, LeCellier, Coral Reef and many other "kid friendly" restaurants thru the years.

We LOVE wine and the boardwalk area so I was leaning on Flying Fish Chef's table but kinda tempted by V&A. Don't think we want to go in a park just to do a meal.

We will have a car.

I would go to V&A.

Not only is it not kid-friendly, they do not allow anyone under ten in the restaurant.

In the US, AAA has only 43 restaurants rated with Five Diamonds; this is one of them. And it is probably one of the lowest-price Five Diamond Restaurants existing.

It may be an experience unlike any you have ever had.

(And there are no noisy kids.)

I've actually done both. If you can afford V&A, I would suggest going there. The food, service and private setting makes for a really special romantic evening.

I also like the Chef's table at the FF. You sit at the counter and get to watch the dishes being made, but it is a little more busy since you are actually still in the main restaurant.

V&A is probably the better meal, but from what I have heard the Chef's Wine Tasting Dinner at FF is a great experience (we are trying this in October). I don't think you could go wrong with either choice. Just keep in mind that if you choose V&A, they are pretty strict with the dress code and DH will have to shlep a dinner jacket with him on the trip.

I just saw that online last night. I was leaning towards FF anyway because it seems more like us. Since we are flying and staying 10 days between US and WDW, bag space is at a premim. The jacket WILL stay home. Maybe another time.

Thanks all. I booked the 8:45pm dinner. So excited!

I would choose V&A in a heartbeat. It was one of the nest meals I have ever had in my life. I am dying to go back! We ate at Le Bernadin in NYC last Valentines Day that was the only better meal and if are a foodie you know who Eric Ripert is! My DBF says that V&A was better.

So my message is.....YUM!

Darn those people who dare to bring noise stinking children to Disney World :snooty: :sad2:

Disney is for adults too... and they do an excellent job of providing space for the young and older (although the spaces for the older is getting less and less... see this years F&W Festival). There's no need to be snarky because there are those who would really enjoy a meal sans screaming kids (I have my own and enjoy Disney with and without them)

It is a fact that Victoria & Albert's does not permit children under age 10 to dine there. If the OP is looking for a more adult experience, which she has indicated she might be interested in, there's noplace better in WDW. I have seen a number of persons who are annoyed that there is a restaurant at Disney World that doesn't allow young children, but V&A has its reasons.

I actually think that if they really had similar price points I'd go to V&A, but with the price you pay at FF for the Chefs Table, wine pairings are included, whereas they are an extra cost at V&A.

The price for food only at V&A is not all that much higher than the chefs table price. It's when you add the wine that it takes off.

They might also want to consider that whoever's driving may not want wine.

DW and I absolutely love V&A and would recommend it to anyone. FF is great too but a bit noisy. Another alternative is Bistro de Paris in the France pavilion. Make a late ADR and since it is just the two of you, ask for a window table and you'll get a partial view of Illuminations. Later ressies are much quieter and much more romantic. Whichever you choose, here's hoping you have a fantastic time!

This is SO our next stop for our next NYC trip. :) We did Babbo last time there and it was all fantastic except for 1 dish . . . .

We loved V&A - went 2 years ago and would highly recommend.
