V & A Chef's Table...child care issues

Do any of you who have eaten at the chef's table have kids? If so, what did you do with them during your meal. I had thought we'd have family and could swap babysitting nights, but no such luck...they all backed out. I'd love to give DH a trip to the chef's table for Christmas, but we've got two DDs.

TIA

Can you put your kids in a kids club at the GF or the poly?
Or kids night out.

there are a few resorts that offer kids clubs. there is one in the grand floridian and at the poly, which are close to v & a. it is about $10 per hour per child. you can make the reservations with WDW Dining. they are really great and the people who are in charge are always well trained.

From the reviews I've read, the meal seems to be 4-41/2 hours long. The kids club at GF had a max of 4 hours (again, just what I have read). I am hoping to get some "real life" "been there, done that"....

Edited: I'm not sure why my post showed up before OP's. Oops.

I thought there was a maximum time limit on the kids' clubs as well, but I asked when I was making reservations for the Cubs' Den at WL and was told no time limit. They open at 4:30 and close at midnight. It's a minimum of 2 hours, but they could be there the entire 7 1/2 hours if I wanted that. At $11/hour per child, it adds up quickly and I doubt DD will be there much more than 4 hours, but the possibility exists.

With 2 kids, the Kids' Night Out service is less expensive. And the in-room care options would be your only options if your kids are less than 4 years old.

Have you used Kids' Night Out? Will they take them to pool, dinner at food court or is all the time spent "in room"? We are staying at Pop, so not much room for in-room activities.

TIA

I have not, but I've read good things about them. What I've read says that you can sign something that gives the sitter permission to take the kids out of the room to do things around the resort. I'm not sure if that will include the pool as that may be a larger liability than the sitter or the service would want to take on, but certainly for dinner at the food court.

I haven't used kids night out but.....I've read reports here of the nanny taking the kids to the arcade. I'm sure they will do as you ask....although I would think they wouldn't do the pool...I could be wrong though.

DH and I ate at V&A Chef Table in Feb. It took about 3 to 3 1/2 hours. We stayed at the Poly and put DS 4 in the Neverland Club there. He loved it. They asked about what time we would be back and when we told them where we were going, they said to plan on 4 hours and that was fine with them.

I HIGHLY recommended the experience!!!

I just booked "kids night out" for our trip, and they will take them to the food court, playground, walks, and for us - the movie on the beach at the BC - BUT no water activities....including baths (fine with me).

We have a younger child that cannot go to the Kids Clubs - but I am really hoping that my children will just play at the playground early evening, and turn in early for some probably much needed rest.

From what I understand the kids club at GF runs from 4pm - midnight. I have never heard of a maximum limit, just that you will be charged at least 2 hours. We have left DS several times when we have eaten at V&A. It's a pretty small club (it's tucked away in the corner past Gasparillas) but DS has never had any complaints. They have always been really nice there. You can book through Disney dining. I found a phone number for the club on another website (407) 824-1666. Don't know if you would get the correct answers there or not!!

Kids Nite Out has a website, so perhaps they could answer directly your questions about activities. I did get the impression it was in room care though.

As I have only one kid, it's always been cheaper to use the clubs at the resorts. I don't think I could leave him alone with a sitter in the room....he would probably have talked them to death by the end of the four hours!! He has a lot to say, and loves an audience!!

1) Whatever you decide, it is going to be expensive.
2) Since V&A doesn't allow kids, you have no choice.
3) Your only options are
. . . one of the kid's club at WDW
. . . recommended on-site sitter service

We're doing the Chef's Table in November, and we've booked the Neverland Club for our kids. We originally booked the kid's club at the GF, but I read a lot of great things about the Neverland Club, so we switched.

Thanks for all the advise. I guess I'll worry about it when and if I am able to get a reservation for the chef's table.
