Uy question

Is there any issue having the same uy in the month you typically travel? Specifically if my family travels every December is there a problem with a December uy? Based on my limited knowledge of the system I don't see there being an issue but I would feel more comfortable hearing from the experts. Thanks in advance!

I am not an expert by any means, so I hope others will chime in. Our UY is June and my plan is to have a yearly trip middle/end of June. It works out well for us. However, we have only been members since 2015. I haven't experienced any down sides.

nope that is the perfect UY if you will always travel in December

Having a UY in the month you typically travel is the best situation you can find yourself in-- however it doesn't allow for any leeway. Therefore, planning a trip in late November or Thanksgiving would not be recommended.

Perhaps an Oct UY might be best. Just remember that in the future your travel plans can change.

Thank you for the advice. I understand that if one has to cancel a trip within the 8 month mark you can bank the points. If you have to cancel during the last 4 months other than trying to squeeze in a trip or losing the points are than any other options?

You can try to rent the reservation you have or try to rebook something on short notice to use, rent or give away (but rebooking these days can be tough on short notice).

But if you have not completed the stay by the end of your UY, then the pts disappear into the void.

If the returned points are current use year points, you could also transfer the points to another member.
