UY effect on Banking, Borrowing

How does the UY month effect when you can bank points to use the next use year? What about for borrowing, is there a timeline for when you can and cannot borrow?

Borrowing is done as you need it when you make the reservation. Use year effects banking in that you have up to 6 months from the beginning of your use year to bank up to 100% of your points. Eight months into your use year you can bank up to 50%, and 9 months into your use year you can bank up to 25%. You can not bank in the last 2 months of your use year.

Example: If I have a June UY and I want to take a trip in June '08.
I want to use points from '08 and from '09. My 11 month window opens in July '07. Can I make a reservation in July '07 for June '08 using both my '08 and '09 points?

Yes, you could do that. Points can only be borrowed when actually making a reservation. In July,07 you can make a reservation for June,08 by using points banked from 07, current from your 08 Use Year and borrowed from your 09 Use Year.

With a June Use Year, you can bank up to 100% of your points thru November 30 - you can bank up to 50% of your total number of points thru February 28 and up to 25% of your total number of points thru March 31. No points may be banked in April or May and unused points would expire on May 31.
