UY Dec - Add On BLT

I was looking for a thread that could clear my doubt about this but I didn't find it, so here it goes:

I currently have a contract in AKV with December UY. If I add-on 100 points in BLT right now, would that mean that I wont get any points until December 2009 in BLT?

I have the doubt since I bought AKV and got my December 2008 points even though the AKV will open in May 2009. I called my guide and left a message, so I'm waiting to hear from him.

Yes, you are correct, it would be Dec 2009 for you. (Feb 2009 is the first UY being sold for BLT. )

yeah.. my SSR uy is march and i just called to add BLT and he said I will get the points on 3/1/09. Kinda stinks that you pay for it now and can't use it till 12/09.

But you would not be able to use the points no matter what use year until BLT offically opens right?
So any one who buys in at BLT is pretty much in the same situation, or I am I not understanding correctly.

BLT opens in october 09, my guide say i can start booking for october stay when i get my points in march. So doesn't it mean that you can not book it for october or november stay if u have uy dec. ?

BLT opens September 1, 2009 and you won't be able to use any BLT points before that date regardless of your Use Year. If you have a December Use Year you could borrow points to use from September 1 - November 30, 2009 if you wanted to travel before your Use Year begins. BLT owners may make reservations (for dates starting September 1m 2009) on March 1, 2009 - and other DVC members may start mkaing BLT reservations on March 15, 2009 7 months in advance.)

Again, regardless of the Use Year, BLT points cannot be used prior to the opening of the resort on September 1, 2009. (The same has happened with other resorts which began sales prior to resort opening.)

i see... so the only difference is just borrowing points for sept to nov stay.

One other difference would be MFs. On a December UY you would only pay a pro-rated amount for one month for 2009. October UY would pay three months' worth.

oh i see.. so that's my downside right there... paying MF fee's and i bet i'll prbly won't even be able to book anything.
