UY and contract expiration

Kind of theoretical (yet) question - if you have contract expired at 1/31/20xx, and your UY - say December,
at that last year --- what would be the option to use your "last" points?

We don’t really know how things will work at the end, but if you have a December UY you should assume you’ll have 62 days to use them if you don’t borrow them. IMO it’s pretty clear that your ability to use the points at another DVC resort expires the day your contract does.

I would imagine they’ll suspend banking the last year or two of each resort to help accommodate availability but again that’s speculation.

Imagine as stated above they'll suspend banking and most people with end of the year UY will borrow their points if they haven't already but who knows what will happen.

Lol if you want the simple answer then technically yes the contract should end on the expected date and you should not expect to use your contract after that. They have previously extended OKW which is extremely unlikely to occur with BCV/BWV/BRV/HHI/VB given the debacle that happened last time. You still have the option to borrow the points into the prior use year and book anytime during the year prior to expiration as I said before.

The resorts expire and the resort ceases to exist. So, they can’t just let people use points.

However, none of us know what they will do to help owners in the last few years be able to use their points. There is a lot they can do.

They can increase the home resort booking for the resort so that non owners have to wait longer to book…that gives owners a longer time to secure rooms at their home resort.

They can suspend banking and/or borrowing. They could offer owners a chance to use DVDs points in exchange for their own to give them extra time..similar to what they did to help owners during the panedemic.

It will be interesting!

Maybe they'll have a Magical Endings promo where they'll buy back your last points? In 2070 they'll still only offer $22 a point!
