While on our Sept 2023 DCL cruise, we paid the $$ for a future cruise booking discount. I searched for the answer but couldn’t find it in these threads. Is the 2 year deadline the time we have to BOOK the next cruise or the time we have to TAKE the cruise? So for us, our trip was Sept 11-19, 2023. Must we cruise by Sept 19, 2025 or just book the next cruise by then?

It depends on the date that you actually booked and paid for the placeholder. Your cruise must START on or before two years from that date. We always book the placeholder on the last morning before leaving the ship to get the maximum amount of time.

So, if you did the future cruise placeholder on the last morning (Sep 19, 2023), you would need to choose a cruise that starts on or before Sept 19, 2025.

We were on a cruise over Labor Day 2023. Made our placeholder on like 9/5/2023. We are sailing 8/31/2025, being able to use the placeholder we made.

OP: Hopefully these 2 responses explain what you're trying to figure out.
