UT tickets, convert to room/ticket packages?

We are planning a Sep trip, and likely staying offsite. Only thing that would change our mind would be additional free dining dates coming out.
If we buy tickets now on Undercover Tourist (I'm nervous a price increase is coming!), if free dining pops back up, can we pay difference to upgrade those, add room and get the free dining?

No, you would have to buy new tickets through Disney and unless UT will refund you the others, you'd have to hang on to one set of tickets for your next trip.

Nope.

The tickets that you get when you book a WDW resort package come from a different department of Disney than the tickets that you buy as "stand-alone" tickets.
That means that when you book a resort (room and tickets) "package," you must choose the tickets that come with the resort room, and those tickets would be priced at whatever cost was in effect at the time you book the room.
