I have already connected our tickets to MDE for all of us. However should I still plan on carrying the hard copy?

We did.

But the only time I really needed them was when we upgraded from 5 days to 6. It was just easier with the hard copy tickets.

If you're not upgrading, I would say...likely you don't NEED to. You might want to, for piece of mind. But ours stayed firmly in the wallets for all but the 5 minutes I had to pull them out during the upgrade process.

I WOULD recommend you bringing them with you on your trip, just in case. But whether you carry them around in the parks, or on your day to day jaunts....I'd say that's entirely going to be up to how much stress it relieves having them on you. :)

You can just to be safe. I linked my UT tickets to MDE before our trip, and I brought the Tyvek tickets with me, but I never had to use them for park entry.

I did use them in the legacy FP- machines while they were still there. But that's a moot point since they're all gone now, presumably permanently.

BTW I didn't even bother to have my Tyvek tickets exchanged for RFID-enabled tickets (since I had MBs already).

Ditto.

I had one tyvek 6 day ticket left over from a few years back (bought from UCT for someone who was SUPPOSED to come with us back then, and then had to back out last minute).

We have 4 of the new RFID enabled 5 day tickets we bought from UCT on sale.

All were linked to MB's. The Tyvek ticket never left my wallet. The other 4, as I mentioned, only came out to do the upgrades.

Despite what the seller or purveyor or supplier or vendor or airline says, I recommend bringing hard copy, just in case some glitch happens or my smart phone battery goes dead at the wrong time.

I agree that it's better to be safe than sorry (but I'm not sure what your smartphone battery has to do with it ;) )
