UT - E-Ticket or Hard Ticket?

I've always chosen to have them mail ours to us, is there any advantage to either method?

The biggest differences are the different expiration dates for the two types of tickets and the fact that the e-tickets aren't returnable/refundable.

Their hard tickets currently expire in Feb-2019. Their eTickets currently expire Dec 31, 2019.

I'll probably be buying next Summer for an early Nov trip when I'll upgrade us to APs. I prefer the hard tix but a Feb '19 expiration obviously won't work now.

Bill - you may want to buy an AP voucher now and hold onto it for your Nov. trip. Or, buy the etickets now and save for November.

Basically I use UT then upgrade to save a few $$ up front plus doing it this way spreads the cost over 3 or 4 months. I saw the thread re the new system, will this impact my strategy? I'll have to do some research.

@PSUGuy - Buying etickets now preserves the ticket discount but the APs will more than likely increase in price prior to your November trip.

I believe, in the most recent posts in the linked thread, the advice is to purchase APs now to preserve the savings versus waiting to upgrade a discounted ticket for a higher-priced AP.

All true. Only other thing to consider, if budget doesn't allow buying APs now, is that all tickets will surely increase in price between now and next summer. So if Disney continues its policy of "bridging" tickets to current gate price, the value of the UT ticket will also increase - perhaps offsetting cost of the more expensive AP. Of course none of us know what will happen, so sure bet is buy APs now. Just wanted to throw out more food for thought!
