Hi! We are going to Disney 3rd week of June, and I'm trying to pick a good day to drive over to IOW to see WW of Harry Potter.

The Undercover Tourist Crowd calendar list Saturdays as the recommended days to see IOW. That has me puzzled since I sort of assumed weekends would be busier than weekdays?

We are in Orlando from 6/17-6/24 - what day would be good for us to go see Harry?

Thanks!!!

I completely disagree. In my personal experience, as well as reading many first-hand reports here, Saturdays--along with Fridays and Mondays--are typically the busiest days at Universal. I recommend mid-week or Sundays as a general rule.

I bought a guide book LAST year anticipating going LAST year to US and IOA and it said that the common misconception for a long time was that the parks were empty on the weekends because everyone goes to Disney over the weekend and hits US and IOA during the early week, but they show that M-W are the best days to go. I usually follow the undercovertourist.com site's crowd calendar and then found THIS one yesterday that is COMPLETELY different for my dates next week from the undercovertourist.com site's calendar.
so you can just go to the Orlando Informer's site and then find the universal link and then hit crowd calendar. It is a site that will ask you to pay, but I googled it and got the link for the crowd calendar to pop straight up without paying.
You can take that second site with a grain of salt. I always rely on UnderCoverTourist and can't honestly say if I think it has been right or wrong in the past because I get to the WDW parks and just make do with what I have got and forget what I looked up! ha!
I hope that helps!

Ok as a local, I tend to only go on Saturday or Sunday because I work during the week. I have found that Sundays are slightly less crowded.

Even on crowded Saturdays the lines aren't too bad on most rides. Most Universal rides are high capacity so you move pretty well. Some rides tend to have much shorter lines in the early morning or late evening.

I am almost never there early in the morning because I don't feel like getting up tha early to drive over to Orlando, from what I hear thats the way to go if you want to see everything.

Also its the Summer Concerts in USF on Saturday nights through June. I am thinking that parks in general may have increased attendance on Saturdays because of this - may go park hopping and may go to IOA first. I am wondering if you were going to miss the concert, then WWoHP may be a little quieter at the end of the day as crowds move over to USF - cocerts starts at 8pm with Cinematic show afterwards.

Everything I read before we went to IofA last summer stated Sunday as the best day. I had MANY guests verify this by going on Sunday, then Monday or Tuesday, who stated Monday and Tuesday were way worse than Sunday. We went on 2 Sundays and a Wednesday and thought the Sundays were the best.

We will be there on Thursday and Friday, 6/7 & 6/8 staying at RPH and will have FOTL. We will be getting up around 3 am on Wednesday to fly to Orlando, so my plan was to visit the Studios on Thursday and IOA at 8 am on Friday. That way we wouldn't have to get up quite so early on Thursday. Is the difference between Thursday and Friday crowds that early in June significant? Or would you recommend that we bite the bullet and go to IOA on Thursday? I'm assuming that IOA crowds would be bigger than Studios because of WWoHP.

Since we'll be checking out on Friday, will bell services hold our bags for us while we visit the park on Friday after we check out?

With Express privileges, the only thing you really need to worry about is WWoHP. I think your current plan is fine assuming that 8:00a entry time is the EE hour. If you can, I'd show up 10-15 minutes before that in case they open the gates a little early--they often do.

I'll take this opportunity to give my standard spiel: if you care about doing it, do Ollivander's before anything else, even Forbidden Journey. The line builds very fast and tends to generate an unreasonable expectation of awesomeness inside. It's a cute show, but I wouldn't spend more than 30 minutes, 45 at the outside, to see it. If you go there first, you should be out in 10 to 20.

Yes, bell services should hold your bags for you. It must happen all the time.

Thanks! I appreciate the tip about Ollivander's.

Wait - SUNDAY is the best day?

I'll have to rearrange the sked now - so confused!
