I am planning on buying a 4 day Disney ticket through undercover tourist later this week. I received a $200 gift card that would pay for most of the ticket. My question is can I pay with 2 forms of payment - the gift card and a credit card?
I would call them to do a transaction like that. Reason being is that 1) you want to do use 2 forms of payment and 2) your gift card might get declined for inadequate funds. When you make a purchase online, your card isn't usually charged in full until the item ships. However, the retailer charges a $1 to the card to verify that it works. So if your gift card is worth $200 and you are charging the full $200, the card will actually be charged $201 and therefore you will be short by $1. This happened to me when I bought $50 gift cards at Disneystore.com using a $50 Amex gift card. The authorization charge of $1 caused a problem for my entire purchase since I was buying a $50 gift card with a $50 amex gift card but was charged a total of $51. The authorization charge does get removed but not in time before they charge your card for the purchase total. I hope that makes sense lol. But like I said before, best to call UT.
