USPS mail ONLY sent to male’s name?

My spouse doesn't even have a DVC portal log in of his own or access to his digital membership card. He doesn't know our guides name or what we would do to buy the Poly. On the other side, I have made buying a contract my second job.

Let me go investigate this communication business.
Yes, I think I found that I had some Disney sites - there are many! - marked (who knows when?) to receive or not receive email/snail mail. It was quite mysterious to me, but I think I have them all fixed now. This is separate from the DVC member website location where I mark whether to send dues bills and other notices via snail mail or email.

Given the well documented challenges with Disney IT, the thinking is that they are intentionally bypassing female names in favor of male names when sending mailers? I dunno......

What if the contract has two male names on the contract? Or if the contract is owned by a trust or a business?

Several people have replied the female in their house gets the snail mail, so who knows. But, yes, throw a “Bill & Sue Smith” on the line for name. (And yes, I realize many contracts have more than two names).

This is us as well, I am the male and the Purchaser, wife is the Co-Purchaser, but I am usually the one who "does stuff" - calls MS, books online, etc. And my first name is before my wife alphabetically.

But still all snail mail comes addressed to her.
Exactly this for me too. Everything comes to my wife who is only vaguely aware of the fact that we take these vacations with a timeshare contract we own and definitely has no idea how to book a vacation or contact a guide to add on.

I’m sure she could figure it out but I’m also sure she doesn’t want to.

Disney does address our mail related to cash vacations to “Dr. and Mr. Xxxxx”, which is correct but rare.

Today we received marketing info on new Poly Tower - sent marketing info ONLY to my husband’s name even though we are both on the contract. Is this their standard procedure - to only send info to the household male? Because (if you can’t tell) it’s a serious pet peeve of mine. I receive emails because I have a separate email address, but shouldn’t they put all names in USPS correspondence? And if there’s only room for one name - do they always pick the male?
My husband and I both got separate poly tower advertisements in the mail today, maybe yours just took an extra day or two to get there 🤷🏻‍♀️

I (husband) am listed as primary on all the closing documents. All promotional mailings come addressed to my wife who doesn't care about any of it. I just assumed they were trying to convince her because they knew I was already in to add on at Poly. 🤔

I can't be certain, but I think our mail comes to my husband too - I thought maybe b/c his name comes before mine alphabetically.

I am the planner, I am the do-er of all things disney and DVC related. But that Poly flier came addressed to only my husband yesterday and his name is well after mine alphabetically.

This is how we received ours, we both got one.

I highly doubt it's gender-based. Someone somewhere clicked a button to receive info. It could go as far back as initial tour or signing up for info on dvc.

I wouldn't read too much into it. I also highly doubt it has anything to do with IT.

I work with marketing firms and many direct mailing organizations and corporate in house marketing divisions. Nearly every populated list for mailing is marketing driven from original signing up and options. They then use variable data lists to send to either their in house print shop or their third party printers who input the variable data (names and addresses) onto the mailings.

OMG. We got the Poly tower mailing today addressed to my son. He is listed as an associate on my BLT membership. So yeah, there is definitely some AI gender bias happening with mailings.
Huh? These mailings have been coming LONG before AI has been in use. We don't even know if Disney is using it now. That has nothing to do with it.

All of the marketing stuff goes to my wife...Even though we both are on our contract.

So weirdly my mail from DVC promotions go to my mother. She is an associate on the account and not the actual owner - that is me. I always wondered if that is their way of trying to get her to buy her own membership. She does come before me alphabetically. But the dues statements or anything looking for money, those do come to my name, so clearly DVC knows I am the actual owner.
