DH and I are planning a quick 3 day weekend trip to USO. We've never been to USO/IOA and we've been to WDW 6 times. In fact, we were just there in May for 7 full days with the kids and grandparents. This weekend thing is just the 2 of us. My dilemma is this: I don't know if I can stand to be in Orlando and not go to Disney! We DO love thrill rides and I think USO has some things to offer that we will enjoy, not having the kids with us. Anyway, I'm wondering if some of you who have been to both might advise me. Would you stay 3 days onsite w/ FOTL at USO or 2 days there and 1 day hitting highlights at WDW?
If we did a day at Disney, we could buy a parkhopper and just use one of the days and save the others. However, I keep thinking surely I can bypass Disney this trip. I have been there recently and I have seen everything except Goofy's Country Dance. :)

As much as I LOVE WDW, I also love the two Universal parks and I'm sure you will as well!!! While you can do them both in two days, I personally would stay onsite and enjoy them over the full three days. Go fullout the first two days and then you can relax and spend the third day doing repeats or enjoying your resort and each other! They are both great resorts, trust me you will love them!!!

I enjoy US/IOA every bit as much as I enjoy WDW. They are two different experiences and you will have a great time. Just do some planning as you would for WDW is you are going to go when it is crowded.

I would stay onsite as well and commit the trip to IOA/USF - WDW can wait for next trip - without the kids, you will have a great time

Thanks

Since you've never been to Universal, I'd suggest staying onsite and just doing those parks. I love both WDW and Universal, but my husband is partial to the Universal parks. When we go to Orlando it's usually for 10 or more nights so we can split our stay between WDW and a Universal resort. See if you can get an Entertainment or Fan Club rate during your timeframe, as those give the best discounts. Have fun!

You didn't say if you were a thrill ride/roller coaster lover? If you are, FOTL and 3 days will be great. If you aren't into thrill/coaster rides, then I'd consider adding a day at disney. The only bad thing then is there are 4 disney parks and you'd have to pick which one to go to.
