Using your 40% - do you keep the money or spend on a better room?

I move from offsite to onsite on weekends when I get a code that works

We used our 40% off code last year to stay at AKL. We usually stay at POFQ, but we spent our honeymoon at AKL a few years ago and wanted to experience it again :)

We resort-hopped a bit to see the Christmas decorations during our last visit, and I think we're going to try for WL if we can use the code we received this year as we really liked the theming and proximity to MK. We definitely wouldn't consider a deluxe without the code.

We chose to upgrade to the Poly. We would not have been able to swing it otherwise. But, it is my DS's birthday trip and our first trip to see WDW decorated for Christmas and we will not be back for a while.

Where do you get this 40% code from?
Thanks,

I received one on the mail early last year and before our trip was over this past October, we received another one via email.

I am with most people and thought the 40% off would give me an opp. to stay at a Deluxe resort for maybe the only time. I thought about the money but since it was only $100 more that i hade budgeted from an extra day and a deluxe resort i went for it

When we get codes we may upgrade depending on the offer.

With 40% off I like to upgrade from a value to a moderate.
For this most recent 40% off email I was going with a group of friends and had already quoted them around $90 per night for the resort....so we upgraded to the CSR and the cost is just about the same.

I plan to use my 40% for CL. we planned on staying at one of the deluxe resorts for sure but this just makes us want to spand around the same amount we would have just now we will have CL.

It is a fabulous deal!! I am at the mercy of what is available at the time I get around to booking though. I hope the travel gods are with me the day I book. ;) I really want CL. It is our treat to ourself for graduating Nursing school. A bunch of Mommies going to WDW without kiddos and without the fellas. heheheh

World Showcase here we come. I have so much shopping to do. I'll prolly even mail stuff back home from the resort :yay:

I graduate from nursing school this fall, and some of us are planning a cruise!

I actually don't have classes this summer, so we're thinking of just buying AP this year for the family, and then instead of just coming in March, we can take a couple long weekend trips in the summer and winter.
Sure would be nice if we could get a code!!

We only stay deluxe so I always need a PIN code to be able to book it. If I don't get a pin code then we can stay at Swan/Dolphin with nurse discount or rent DVC points for villas.

I got a code via email Jan 2007 and booked GF RPC for a great price but unfortunately had to cancel due to family illness.

Got a 40% off code Jan 2008 and have booked Beach Club for Sept 2009:thumbsup2

Have no idea how they decide who gets codes:confused3 I always order the planning DVD when I'm planning a trip (never watch it but figure it ups my chances of getting a code???). I also went online and put in my dates and resort preferences but don't book it....when I exit the website and the "Why didn't you book with us today?" pop up comes up I went to the bottom of the page where you can leave comments and said, "I would book this reservation but I cannot afford it without a 40% off code. Please send me one!!!"
Did this have anything to do with the fact that less than a week later I got a 40% email code? Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to try:goodvibes

We upgraded from the CR wing to our beloved GF, Garden View. I never thought I would ever get to stay here again after our honeymoon, and this will be our 4th stay :cloud9: (2 courtesy of a 40% code!!)

But in the case of the 4/3 deal, I didn't upgrade at all. We chose POP since it is a bday trip and DS loves it there! But the code did help me get to go for 7 nights instead of 4 :thumbsup2
