Using water park day on our Magic Band the day BEFORE check in?

For our next trip we will have 10 day tickets with water park and more options, so 10 "plus" visits. We will be staying with a friend in Orlando for a few nights before we check into our Disney resort. We should get our Magic Bands in the mail week or so before we leave, right? I am wondering if it would be possible for us to use one our plus visits at a water park the day before we check in, or are the tickets not active until we check in at the resort?

4. The package tickets will NOT be active before you check in to your WDW resort.

BUT, you CAN activate your tickets up to three days BEFORE your WDW resort check-in.
Take your MBs, legal photo ID, and package info to a Guest Relations outside any THEME PARK (not Water Park,) or to TTC,
or to either Guest Relations at DTD… and the CM can activate your tickets.
Then you can use the tickets at any theme park or water park or at DisneyQuest, etc.

Last question, could I get them activated at a resort? Just wondering because we have breakfast reservations that moring at Boma, so I thought maybe I could just do it then and that would be nice and easy. But, I noticed that Robo didn't mention the resorts being one of the places I could get that done in advance, so I wasn't sure.

No, it's not available at the resorts. Only Park GS and DTD.
