Using Up Points

Our MS contact told us we have 102 points to use by August 2001 (85 of them are bankable). Does anyone have any ideas on how to use them, other than at Disney? We have discussed Washington, DC and Williamsburg, VA, but I'm not sure how to go about using DVC points in those two places. We've never tried anything other than Disney, so this might be yet another new experience.

Renting is one option, or, How about a surprise, unplanned trip down for a cozy get-away for 2? A gift for friends, in-laws, older kids, etc.

If you go to one of the Concierge Collection hotels or B&B's the points are based on the charts. If you are trading into another timeshare resort MS arranges the trade for you and will let you know how many points are needed. I haven't done a trade so I'm a little fuzzy on the specifics as well.

Here's what we did when we had extra points.
We made a reservation for a charity called "Making Memories". It is a breast cancer charity, and they are kind of like a Make a Wish foundation.
It was very easy to do and knowing we made someone's wish come true is awesome!

We live in RI, and we're going to the Equinox in Manchester Village, Vermont, for a couple of days in April. It's not something we would ever have done, and I am so psyched about it! We could really use a couple of relaxing days away.

194 2000 points came with our resale purchase, and we could only bank 125, which left us with 69. We're using 66 for the weekend in Vermont, and I'm going to offer my other 3 to someone else. (Heading to the other board right now. )

You might want to consider taking a 3 day cruise on the Disney Magic. You can use points and pay cash for any difference you need to make up
