Using Uber/Lyft instead of renting a car?

Hey all! 😊

I’m going back and forth between renting a car and using Uber or Lyft for our upcoming trip (POR 1/2-1/9). I have a decent deal for a premium sedan at $418, but of course, will need to pay daily parking at the parks as well. When I plug in sample dates to/from MCO, and to/from the parks, it would seem Uber/Lyft would be a better deal, at least on the surface.

Here’s what I’m seeing…
MCO - POR $47 plus tip
POR - AK $22 plus tip (each way)
POR - HS $13 plus tip (each way)

This seems way less than I was anticipating - am I missing something…?

If you are staying at a Disney resort, you don't pay for parking at the parks. However, they do charge for overnight parking at your resort.

Getting to/from the parks and your Disney resort is easily done by bus (free) or you can use uber/lyft.

Is this new? I’m pretty sure I remember having to pay to park at the parks, except when we were AP members for a few years, and we’ve always stayed onsite.

Edited: nevermind! Just Googled it and you’re right - either I’m not remembering correctly or they’ve changed it. It’ll be $20/night for POR but then parks are included.

If you pay to park at your resort, it includes the park.

Yes, Lyft is cheap and I use it all the time. I even did Poly to Epcot instead of messing with 30 mins of monorail.

$47.00 for the airport trip is about right according to what I paid in September.

You could also save a fair bit by using Disney transpo as mentioned for the parks, and just Lyfting to dinner reservations, or Disney Springs if you like... You might consider Lyfting to MK, but Epcot, DHS and DAK are all a little closer to Port Orleans.
