Using TIW Question

Hello Experts,
I have a question about using the TIW card. I am planning on purchasing a DVC AP and then the TIW card.
I am trying to understand whose name the AP and TIW should be in, mine or DH. Does the name on the credit card used to pay need to be the same name on the Credit Card?
I understand that the member must be present, but must the MEMBER pay, or can it be anyone at the table with the member use their credit card to pay?

I don't think it matters who pays because the member's name goes on the card. I bought one in my name and had to show my ID. When I lost it and went to get it replaced, I got the new one in my husband's name* and he wasn't with me, but I had his AP with me. I had no problem paying for it.

*I thought getting a new one would be no big deal. HA. You have to pay $25 for a new card! The Cast Member helping us suggested I get the card in my husband's name in case mine turned up later. That way we'd both have one IF the old one was found rather than me having 2.

To further clarily my question; DS's GF wants to treat us to dinner one night (we are treating her to the week). Could we use our TIW card with her Credit Card (different name) for that dinner? We will all be eating together, including the member, but I was wondering if we could get the discount while she uses her credit card. I can't tell from the official TIW brochure.

We have definitely used the card when a non-cardholder in our party paid the check.

My wife has also used the card when I wasn't present, which is technically not allowed. It all depends on the server I suppose - though using the card guarantees thy will get an 18% tip on the pre-discount total so I imagine most of them don't mind.

Yes, we did this in January. My sister treated me to lunch at LeCellier for my Birthday. I used my TIW card for the discount and she paid with her credit card with no problems.
