Using tickets

OK, so I have a number of unused no exp tickets remaining in my MDE account but I am considering purchasing one of the 4 park pass tickets that DVC is offering for sale thru the end of december for my March 2015 trip. The price looks good and the one park per day no repeat really fits my plan for the March trip.

So, what happens when I show up at the turnstyle and scan my magic band ?? What ticket will Disney use for that visit ? How can I tell Disney to use this new 4 day - 4 park ticket rather than my no-exp ticket that I bought in 2011 ?

I asked this question as well - I am told you have to stop at Guest Services or a ticket window before entering a park. Ask them to prioritize your 4 day/4 park ticket so it is used before any other tickets on your Magic Band. We are also going in March and want to take advantage of the current offer.

I am pretty sure once you have a confirmation number and use MyDisneyExperience.com to connect that stay to your account, you can enter the ticket information you want to use to that specific reservation. Then, just make sure you use the magic band they send you for that reservation and it should have the correct ticket info on it already.

We added a fake person to our MDE account and transfer all tickets we don't want to use to them. Have done this for 3 trios and it works well.

This isn't close to correct.

The magic bands don't have any information on them at all. They simply emit a fixed numerical ID code, that tells any MDE portal (gate, cash register, room door, etc) who you are. This is why you can use all your bands from different visits interchangeably.

Agree with the previous poster, that a guest services supervisor has told me in person that they can prioritize the ticket used first for park entry. Just go to guest services before you enter.

One wrinkle to remember with the 4-day DVC special is that you have to use the days at the four parks, one per each, with no repeats. My understanding with your other tickets also linked to your profile is that if you were using the DVC 4-day and went to enter Epcot on a second day, it would automatically pull a day off of your non-expiry ticket and let you enter. Beware of this possibility.

This is a strategy for tickets that haven't been used yet because they can be reassigned. But looks like we will be stuck stopping at Guest Services because we have non-expiring tickets that have some days already used and can't be reassigned to someone else.

you can move them back and forth as long as they are transferable- non exp with used days, as seen above by jekjones1558, is one example that can't.however, when you go into "tickets" in MDE you can deselect any you don't want to use. We had to do that with non-exp ones this last trip.

Question - we are staying on a friend's DVS points. Can THEY buy these passes for us? Can i buy them?
If so on either - how much are they? We are taking a relatively short, relaxed trip and will likely not do park hopping, so if available and a good deal, we would probably do it.

The 4 park...one park per day...no repeat... park ticket is $199 and must be purchased by 12/31/14 and used by May 24th. Only DVC members can purchase the tickets but it is my understanding that anyone can use the tickets.

I believe that's all correct, but I also believe there's a limit of eight per membership.

I was just reading a little more about them and it says that the member orders and yes, can give them to anyone they want (up to 8), but that even though you can assign the tickets to your magic band, the member has to pick them up at will call and show dvc id. Is that true?
If so, then it won't work for us since we are not traveling with the member (using our friend's points).

We decided against it...timing mostly.
Yes, we have magic bands, but all the Q&A's say you can link the will call number to your bands, but then you still have to pick up the tickets with ID.
THat's where I was confused.
