Using Tickets Day Before Package Begins?

Can someone confirm that you can still use your tickets before your Disney package begins. I have a room only reservation 1 night and then the package starts the next day. Is it possible to use my tickets on the first day of my trip? If so, how is that done?

Yes, we did that exactly two years ago, June 2016. We had a package with tickets attached to that, but then added a one night room only stay at CBR at the beginning of our trip. We had the water park fun and more tickets, so we decided to hit up Blizzard Beach on our arrival day. We had to stop at their guest services outside Blizzard Beach in order to get the tickets activated, and they took care of it.

You can activate “package” tickets up to 10 days early at a Ticket Window or Guest Relations. You can also ask your Resort Concierge to see if it can be done there.

This isn't exactly answering your question, but we added a 1-night stay at All Star Movies (check-in 4/13) prior to our 7-night room/ticket package at Port Orleans (check-in 4/14). I made the assumption that my 60-day booking window for FP+ would not open until 60 days prior to the check-in date on my package since that was the reservation with the tickets...HOWEVER, I was actually able to book my FP+'s a day early! I had added my 1-day reservation to my MDE account, but still don't know why it let me book a day early. And the only reason I found out was I was 'practicing' the morning before (i.e. day 61) and it was open for me!

So, I guess I'm sharing so you know to get up early on day 61 too!!

If you booked a room -AND TICKET- for that All Star night, that's why you could book for that first added day.
If you did NOT book a ticket (or already have another valid ticket in your MDX account) for that All Star room...
it sounds like an MDX glitch, but a fortuitous glitch in your favor!

With an onsite to onsite Split Stay, the FP booking window opens with Stay#1 and remains open through checkout day of Stay#2. Because Stay#2 is a package, FPs can only be booked for park days during Stay#2, not for any park days during Stay#1.

is not surprising, but...
Being able to actually BOOK a FP on that day due to her tickets being a part of her
later 7-day stay.

The way that I'm trying to piece this out is GalInSpace needed a ticket to be added to the trip (at some point) in order to go into a park for the added day.
So, if a ticket was also booked at the time the All Star resort day was added, that ticket would have allowed the FP to be booked on that first day.

It is also possible that there was another valid ticket already in her MDX account.

Otherwise, there was a system glitch.

I didn't have additional tickets with the extra room stay. It was only that my 60-day FP booking window opened up a day early. I was still only making FP's for the 'real' package days.

To clarify this (for ME, at least...)
It works exactly the same way as having a single resort on-site stay of (say) 12 days, but only buying tickets for 10 park days, and then, only BOOKING your FPs for day-two (and beyond) of your stay.

In the particular case GalInSpace is discussing, the difference is that she actually
would not be ABLE to actually book FP for day-one of her trip (the added ticketless day)
because her package tickets would not become valid (for FP booking) until day-two of her trip.
