Yes, each comment you make and click "post reply" is a post. You need a total of 10 posts (on any thread on DISboards) for the extra options to unlock for you. Those options are adding an avatar, posting photos (I believe), and starting private conversations.

You currently have 5 posts, you need 5 more. Once you've reached that milestone it can take the system a little time to recognize that you've gotten there. Typically 30-60 minutes.
