Hoping someone can clarify for me on using the elevator to access the monorail at the Contemporary. We have used it in the past with our stroller but there always seems to be confusion when we get to the monorail level, including a CM becoming annoyed with us so we were thinking that we weren't supposed to use it. We don't want to get in the way of wheelchair access, if that is solely what it is intended for. Does anyone have information? Thank you.

It is not reserved for wheelchair access. Sounds like you had a grumpy CM or did something other than just use the elevator that annoyed them.

I don't think I've ever used stairs at CR, we always use the elevator - with a stroller and my husband has bad knees. Don't worry about it, as PP said, must have been a grumpy CM.

Enjoy your vacation!

Anyone can use the elevator at the CR. Most people use the escalator because it's easier.

i would use the elevator should be no problem.

Those with strollers should NEVER use an escalator!!! Ever. That's what elevators are for...those with strollers, wheelchairs, ECVs or just plain not willing to use escalators.
I think I would have been very tempted to ask the CM exactly who was supposed to be using the elevators!!!!

That's what I was thinking!

I think what confused us further is that the elevator opens on both side at the monorail level and we haven't been able to figure out which side we should exit, since we've only used it a handful of times. The nice thing was one time we exited and there was a huge line for the monorail but a family let us jump in right away. That was very kind of them.
