I am using a TA for this trip, I usually do everything myself. I would like to check my reservation on the Disney site. I have the Disney confirmation number. Will it show up there or only the reservations made on line will.

You have to have the telephone number that was used when the reservation was booked in order to access that information online. You can call reservations with your confirmation number and they will confirm everything for you.

I called 1-800-828-0228 and since I have a TA they will not discuss my reservation with me.

That was not my experience at all. I just told them that the reservation was booked by a TA, but that I was just calling to confirm the reservation. You might try back and see if a different CM would be more helpful. I understand why they won't cancel a reservation, but not confirming it is just wrong.

I was told they couldn't discuss the details, but he was willing to confirm that the ressie was in my name and the hotel and dates.

Then I said I would contact the TA to add on my special requests (just ground floor room and a pack and play) and he said, hang on I'll do that for you now - I think that he probably didn't have to do that, but he was very nice about it.

I'm a member of Cititravel, which is techinically a travel agent...you pay a yearly charge and in exchange, you get a 5% rebate off travel booked through them. If I end up paying rack rate for my 10 nights, that would be a $206 rebate.

BUT, they are not the type of travel agengy that would watch out for codes, or act quickly to try to get an AP rate...If I have them make the reservation, MUST they be the one to try to convert if to a lower rate if I have that opportunity, or could I call and make changes?

I think they would have to do it.
What you could do is call and make a 2nd reservation and then cancel the original one.

I did the opposite this week - I had a ressie but I couldn't get through to get the AP rates. My friend is a travel agent and so I asked her to make the reservation for me, then I called and cancelled my original ressie later.

I called back and got a new person. She called a different area and was able to answer my question.
