I am trying to figure out the best way for my family to get back to the airport.
Can we check out at our resort (GF) and get our boarding pass and turn our luggage in (so they can take it to the airport) and then take a town car to the airport?
I know with DME you have to ride the bus for them to transfer your luggage but going TO the airport does the resort flight check in area require the same?

To sum it up in plain English :rotfl:

I want Disney to take my luggage to the airport so I don't have to go through check in at the airport but we want to take a towncar to the airport rather than the Disney bus. Can this be done?

Yes, as long as the airline you are flying participates in RAC.

We were at WDW last July and wanted to go to POLY for breakfast the last morning and knew we wouldn't have time to have breakfast and get back to POP to catch our bus 3 hours before our flight. So we rented a car for our last day, dropped our luggage off at RAC in the morning, went to the POLY for breakfast and then drove to MCO, dropped of the car and walked with no luggage directly to security....It was wonderful!

Enjoy your trip!

The RAC system isn't truly DME. Anyone at all can, and does, use it. In fact, a lot of people who rent cars, use towncars, etc. have all used the RAC system for their checked bags. Just be sure you are on a 'participating airline' and you'll be good to go.
