Using Relative's Cast Member Discount

Hello all, new member here. Planning our first trip to Disney as a family of four (4 year old and 2 year old). We have a relative that works for Disney and he claims he can book at a Disney Resort for a greatly discounted price plus get us in for free each morning at the parks. Without bothering them too much, as he is older and not well experienced with the CM hub, I have a couple questions:

1). Once they book at the resort, will I be able to add it to MDE?
2). Will I be able to book Fast Passes at the 60 day window?
3). Will we still get free Magic Bands?
4). Do we get a discount on the dining plan or do we just pay for this outright?
5). Will we be able to add the tickets to MDE?

I'll answer what I can:

1 - I believe there are 2 "tiers" of discounts; the biggest discount requires the CM to be staying in the room with you, the other I think the CM only has to show up on check-in day and show credentials.
2 - Depends on which tickets; if it's the CM guest passes, I think the answer is no. If it's just a regular "comp" ticket then you can put that in MDE and book FP+ at 60 days.
3 - MagicBands come with any WDW resort reservation, regardless of tickets/source, MBs are used at the room key
4 - I don't know
5 - see answer #2 above, it depends on the type of ticket

The TPAS (Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies) forum is the best place for ticket questions. You may get better answers there. Similarly, the Resorts forum is the best place for resort questions.

yes. If they book you as Friends & Family it will be in your name and you can add it to your MDE. If he books it in his name, I don't think so
2). Will I be able to book Fast Passes at the 60 day window?
if he is getting you in on his Guest passes, no
if he has comp tickets, yes
when you said "get us in free each morning" I am assuming it is Guest Passes. Comp tickets he would not need to be there, he could just link to you. Guest passes, he will need to scan in first each morning then let you scan the guest passes
3). Will we still get free Magic Bands?
for your resort stay, yes
4). Do we get a discount on the dining plan or do we just pay for this outright?
there is an employee discount for the dining plan. he should be able to add it to the room he books
5). Will we be able to add the tickets to MDE?
probably not, it sounds like guest passes. that being said, i have pretty good luck getting Day Of FP+ Totally worth not being able to book FP to get in free though

Yes, he is saving us around 1500-2k. Definitely worth losing fast passes for free tickets. Thanks for your info

I know when my DD was a CM we couldn't get any discount on the dining plan. She did get a percentage off certain restaurants. If the trip falls during the CM family discount time (Christmas time) then there could be a discount for dining plan. We used the heck out of our kids discounts!
