I offered to help someone with trip planning. She is taking her extended family to WDW paying for lodging with credits through RCI as she owns a non-DVC timeshare. She has reserved a two bedroom villa and a studio sometime in May. I am not sure what privileges she has under these circumstances. Since she will be at a Disney resort, I assume that they will qualify for Extra Magic Hours. She asked if they qualified for a dining plan. (I really don't think this is going to work for her anyway as she wants to cook at the villa to save money.) I assume that they can make FastPass+ reservations 60 days out and dining reservations 180 + 10 days out if they link their reservation to their My Disney Experience account. Since they are not owners, I doubt that they would qualify for any other perks like merchandise discounts, but this is not important to her. They will be driving their own car, so Magical Express is not important. Please let me know if I am erroneous in my assumptions or have over looked anything.

To confirm:she booked a 2 bedroom dvc via rci for next may? If so, that would be huge news as there has been no 2 bedroom Orlando DVC deposits in rci past check ins around march 2015. Almost all deposits have been 1 bedroom ssr, with some okw and very few aklv weeks.
As far as benefits go, rci DVCexchanges do get magical express, 60 day fast pass,180 plus 10 dining reservations, and free parking though there is a $190 surcharge collected by Disney for this at check in. Also, they can do dining plan, but would not qualify for merchandise discounts.

I think you might have better luck getting answers to these questions on the DVC boards. Maybe a mod could move this thread there as those posters tend to be the experts on this.

Yes. A DVC Reservation (even through RCI) is an on-site reservation.

They can purchase a dining plan if they wish.

Yes. They will need to call DVC Member Services using the phone number on their RCI confirmation to get the DVC Confirmation number which can be linked to MDE. They will also need to link park admission to MDE before they can made any advance FP+ selections.

No discounts.
