Using pools if not a guest

Hi,
I was watching a well know vlogger today (probably the most well know) and they had been invited to use the pool at Kidani village for the day by a friend who was staying there, is this allowed?
I was under the impression that it was supposed to be hotel guests only using the pools, I am a DVC owner at GFV and have seen that some hotels seem to be checking room keys/bands to confirm if you are a hotel guest.(edit..this seems to have just been for Memorial weekend)

There were reports of hotels checking people over memorial, but that has since stopped. Unregistered guests are not allowed to use the pool at any Disney resort. However Disney's severe lack of enforcement (by way of wristbands because a key card doesn't work) is reporting to be causing issues at some resorts as Influencers encourage people to just go use deluxe hotel pools, all you need to do is trail in after someone with access or bang on the gate and some kind hearted idiot will let you in. At least your vlogger was invited so we can say theoretically say they were registered as a day guest of whoever invited them.

Yes they stopped checking after Memorial Day weekend. At BWI on the holiday itself they were checking at the main pool but by the time we checked into Poly that Wednesday it was business as usual where you just had to tap into the gates.

I also don't believe for a second that vlogger was "invited". Anyone can lie on the internet lol. I vaguely recall it being possible at one time to be added onto a guest's reservation as like a day guest to use the pool but idk how that works or if it's still a thing anymore since so much changed with covid reopening.

Please name this vlogger so we can say shame, shame, shame to them. Their host broke the rules if they did not add this vlogger to their reservation.

That was my first guess LOL yeah that tracks for them (pun intended).
Just watched it. Oliver shouldn't be using the slide if Oliver's parents aren't paying registered guests. Now I'm on fire. I just emailed DVC.

ETA - Read some comments and he said his family was added to the invitee's resort reservation. He acknowledges that you can't use a Disney pool unless you are a registered guest or on their reservation. So, is the assumption that the registered guest had a room accommodation large enough to add 2 more adults?

This is really starting to get on my nerves. The pools are packed and registered guests can't enjoy them. Disney and DVC need to step up enforcement on this or prorate my dues to account for this. Charge the 'day guests' or 'pool crashers' and lower my DVC dues.
Until Disney gets enough complaints they aren’t going to change anything. If people have experiences with overcrowded pools or examples of non-resort guests at them, that should be included in a complaint email to Disney.

Yes that is the assumption. Such clickbait nonsense to leave out that rather important detail.

I don’t know if it’s allowed but I recently saw Fort Wilderness guests blatantly taking the boat over to Wilderness Lodge, using the pool and boating back.
No pool hopping is not allowed based on the rules. However until Disney bothers to enforce the rules this behavior will continue to occur.

This has to be addressed. It's getting worse and worse. As a DVC owner at Beach Club I may just be staying there until this is a across the board at every DVC resort. At Grand Floridian last year there were people openly talking about how they were staying at All Star. Poly pool last year when I stayed was absolutely packed, tons of guests from all over in the pool to watch fireworks at night! Disney needs to clamp down and enforce overnight registered guests only in the pool areas!!!!

Last week, on the bus ride back to Pop from MK, I heard a family talking about getting their suits on and then jumping on the Skyliner to go to the pool at either Caribbean Beach or the Riviera. The parents were really pushing it and weirdly, the kids (teens and tweens) were against it. The kids actually said to the parents "We can't do that. It's against the rules." The parents responded that they have been pool hopping for 10 plus years and no one cares. And that the kids should just trust Mommy and Daddy because they have never steered them wrong before. I just shook my head and got off the bus at Pop to go to the bowling pin pool. I can't even imagine WANTING to ride the Skyliner in wet swimsuits.
