Not likely to effect ALL of you people from the US I know, but maybe some of you....

I was pleased to find out that using points to stay at DLP means you also get park admission tickets for the number of guests in the room (i.e. four people in the room , you get four X one day passes).
This, IMHO, turns what looked to be a pretty expensive way of getting a room ( 26-39 points per night depending on hotel) into a pretty reasonable deal, an adult one day ticket I believe is currently about $30.

For anyone thinking about this option when visiting London I would happily recommend taking the Eurostar train from London's Waterloo station, direct into the Disneyland Paris station where it is a walk of a couple of minutes to your hotel or into the park.

Thanks for the tidbit of information. It sure makes DLP look more enticing! Someday I will get there.

Hi Vernon:
We love London and Paris both and a combination Londor/Paris?Disney seems like a neat vacation.

Do you have any idea how much the Eurostar tickets are from London to Paris and back? We've never taken it yet and I think even that would be fun.

Thanks,
Caskbill

According to the 2001 "The Disney Collection" chart for Disneyland Paris:

quote:
Reservation Points listed include admission to DISNEYLAND® PARIS Theme Park for the length of the stay for the number of registered guests up to the maximum number of guests permitted in the accomodation.[/quote]
This benefit seems especially valuable if you have a family of four in a hotel room with two double beds.

There are various deals on offer at different times, the cheapest ticket ( called APEX 7 ,which you have to book 7 days in advance and IS NOT refundable but ask about other APEX fares) should be about $130 return for an adult. This is economy (2nd class) but these are decent seats. For a child about $80 depending on the deals at the time. There is also a "youth" ticket for under age 26 which is about $100. Some tickets have restrictions you MUST stay on a Saturday night, some are that you have to stay EITHER a Saturday or two nights. I would advise if possible to travel mid week as the park will be quieter then. To get into Paris is quick and I believe cheap from DLP, a train ticket ( which includes use of the Paris metro ( subway) system can be obtained from the DLP hotels, check the DLP website for those details as well as sightseeing day trips into Paris)
http://www.disneylandparis.com

I somehow managed to get a first class seat for about $170 for me and $100 for DD ( but this may have been tied up with the hotel).

How convienient is Paris from Disneyland? Did you spend much of your trip in the city? How many days do you think you need to spend in the park? How easy is it to get around the Park with only un petit peu? If you did go to Paris when did you go and what was your favourite part??

For DLP itself in order to enjoy the park and to spend sometime at your hotel pool ( if it has one) etc I think 2 days is enough at the moment. I haven't been to Paris from DLP ( but I have visited Paris before) you could spend a week there and not take in all it has to offer. I believe it is a direct route into Paris from the park and takes about 30 minutes. The hotels will sell you the train and metro combination ticket so you can get around and explore on your own or you can take a tour ( again organised through the hotels). I'll ( or probably more importantly my girlfriend JAna) will be better placed to answer these questions in a couple of weeks as she's visiting from PA in a weeks time and we're going to do a two days stay in DLP ( one in the park and one in Paris). The bits of Paris I liked were going up the Eiffel Tower, visiting Notre Dame Cathedral, Pompadou (sp?) centre ( art gallery) and Mont Matre( again sp)which has lots of cafes, street artists and little shops for momentos.

I think a 2 night stay allowing for one full day in the park, one day sightseeing in Paris ( for first time visitors the organised tour is going to be the most efficient way to see most things IMHO ) and the balance of the third day either in the park or enjoying your hotel would be the best use. You can take an EARLY train from London that gets you to DLP about 10.00 in the morning and a late train home ( I think the direct one leaves about 5.00) to eke the most time out of your stay. When you arrive at the train station at DLP there is a place to hand over your luggage and they will then take it to your hotel if you want to go straight into the park, there is also a "drop point" at your hotel so you can leave your bags in the morning of check out and go into the park, if you wish and your bags will be waiting for you at the station BEFORE YOU BOARD your train. ( the service is good, but not THAT GOOD LOL)
