Using points for Disneyland hotel

$95 I believe. It is also a terrible exchange rate per point compared to just renting and paying cash to book the hotel.

Rent out your points and use the cash to pay for a Good Neighbor hotel.

Thank you for all the responses. I know its not really worth the cost in points. I'm traveling from Australia though and with our exchange rate also - the price per night cash rate is expensive too - and for Thanksgiving week!! We are going to do off site for the majority of the stay this time - but always wanted to stay at the DL Hotel - its like a bucket list thing, even if for only a couple of nights. We did DVC Grand Cal last time and loved it but it seems many nights are already gone for our period of stay so we couldn't even rent the points at this stage. Thanks again for your help :)

We've stayed there twice on points. It is an expensive use of points, but it worked out for us. The kids loved it there and we had a great time. It was sentimental for me, as well, as my parents took me there in the late 60s/70s and early 80s so I have fond memories of being there. Plus an added benefit, at least when we were there in 2015, there was no charge for parking if using DVC points. May have changed since then however.

Points used to be very reasonable, however, they went way up after GCV opened...

Yes, you should rent your points and then book across the street. That hotel is a little over rated, imo.
