Using Paypal to pay for a DVC rental

I've read often here that Paypal doesn't allow payments for Timeshare rentals. However others have pointed that it may not be true anymore, so I've contacted Paypal support and this is what they answered:

Yes, you can infidelity use PayPal to receive payments for Timeshare rentals, depending on you and the sender's preference, I reviewed your account and it shows that your email address is confirmed, which means that your account is fully-set-up to receive payments.

I guess "infidelity" is auto-correction for definitely.

They have always allowed payment. They just do not provide any buyer protection for fraud.

Or owner protection if the renter disputes the charge, much easier to use a personal check.

I agree that they’ve always allowed payment but offer no protection to anyone.

Note that official terms published online still say no real estate, but in practice all that has meant is that there is no buyer protection. They don't police what you are paying for.

I've always used PayPal...one time when I was buying points I made a friends/family transfer to avoid the fees...it was a 6k transaction and they called right away. I think they knew it wasn't a friend/family member, but all they did was confirm I meant it and politely remind me of the risk.
