Has anyone used Orbitz or Travelocity for airline tickets? How was it? I can get tickets from Denver to Louisville, KY for at least $100 less flying American using Orbitz or Travelocity than I can going thru the American Airlines web site for the same flights.

Am I missing something? I've never used Orbitz or Travelocity for airline tickets and I guess I'm a bit gun shy. If there is a problem with flights, will we be able to get on another flight or will we be out of luck.

OK, be honest, am I just worrying for nothing? What has been your experience using these web sites?

Thanks so much

Elise

I used Travelocity to book tickets from Nashville to Las Vegas. We didn't have any problems. I believe the website gives you all the details on cancellations and any rules. We got e-tickets and had no problems at all.

Yes, I picked out our seat assignments on each flight when I booked with Travelocity.

I have used both and never had any problems. But just know that tickets thru them are non refundable unless you pay a big fee. As for choosing your seats, it depends on the airline you fly with. Some flights let you choose your seat and some don't.

I have booked 3 rt flights thru Travelocity without problems. I could pick seats on Delta but not other 2 that I recall.

I had a time change once and they called me to let me know.

It was Delta that we booked and chose seating assignments through Travelocity. I didn't know if other airlines let you do this or not.

Ive used Orbitz for most of my tickets and I love it- Im flying Delta in 11 days via Orbitz-

Ive never had a problem with them yet and Ive flown 2 airlines via them :)

Thanks everyone for your quick and encouraging responses. I knew I could count on DIS folks to have info about this.

It looks like I'll be making some airline reservations tonight, after ER though. Some things are just more important than airline tickets :)
