Might end up driving a rental down tomorrow and was wondering if I could use my Peach Pass in the rental. It would be from Enterprise. If so, would I just go in and add the car to my Peach Pass account tomorrow when we get it?

So you’re talking about taking the sticker/transponder thing out of your personal vehicle and putting it temporarily in your rental car for the trip?

I thought it’s supposed to match your vehicle/tag number and is not transferable, but I’m not sure about that.

I will have to check on it. I am really not sure. Still not sure if we are going to go with a rental anyways. But believe me, before I would do anything I would make sure I am good with it. Not risking anything with the law, lol.

You have to make sure the transponder that comes with the rental car is disabled (the method varies) when you use your own transponder.

1. The rental transponder may have an on-off switch.
2. The rental transponder may slide in and out of a small box on the windshield (slide in to disable).
3. The rental transponder may need to be snapped off and stuffed in a special envelope (find that before taking off in the car).
4. You may need to explicitly decline the rental company toll paying option.
5. You may need to do more than one of the above actions.

Stick on (lite) transponders might not be transferable from one car to another; they may tear apart when you try to dismount them.
It is easy to forget and leave your own transponder in the rental car when you return the latter.
If you don't phone your transponder company and cancel the rental car license plate (if applicable) when you are done, you might continue to be charged, for the next renter.

You'll need to buy a pay and go peach pass, then call peach pass (1-855-PCH-PASS) and change it to a personal toll account. It has to be linked to a credit/debit card. When you get the car, make sure you tell the company you will be using your own peach pass and not the car's transponder. Call peach pass people and give them the plate number of the car. Then affix the sticker to the rental car.

Does this work smoothly?

You would think so. However, I picked up my rental juuuust as the peach pass office closed for the day. I was not able to call and give them the plate number on the car. I paid cash for my MCO to WDW tolls and called the next day.

Going home, I drove through the two sunpass or epass or whatever it is called in full confidence.

After being home, we later got a bill from Alamo that we had driven through one toll and didn't pay. This was on a day I used the peach pass. We went through two tolls, and one apparently worked and one didn't.

For me, it just wasn't worth the trouble.
