Using MVMCP for FP+?

Hi I am trying to understand how to use my Xmas Party Tickets for FP+. This is our first WDW trip with MB's and FP+, so it's quite possible I have made a mistake somewhere along the line. Here is our situation.

Today is our 60 day window for hotel reservation, arriving 11/8/2016, with a 6-day PH. For the record, we were able to book our FP+ reservations for 11/9 - 11/14, so there is no issue there.

Regarding our party tix, we are attending on 11/8, the day of our arrival. We will already be in FL, arriving at WDW from Universal. We plan to enter MK at 4 PM for the party on 11/8.

My wife and I both have MDE's that are linked. The hotel reservation, PH tickets, and our current FP's are under my wife's MDE. I purchased the party tix on my MDE. I initially assigned them to ourselves, but have since reassigned them to "phantoms" with our middle names/last names.

Since I have a hotel reservation linked in my MDE, I was originally thinking that I could book FP's on the party day, using the Party tix, at the 60 day window. I am thinking now this is not correct since the 'phantoms' are not linked to any hotel reservation. The button is active on the MDE website, but just shows a circle when I click. (I plan to attempt access later via the app, or another device.)

Even though I thought I had researched this, now I am starting to doubt myself. Can I even make FP+ reservations at all via the party tix? Is there anything I can do to get FP's at the 60 day window? Will I be able to make FP+ reservations on the party tix at the 30 day window? Or did I somehow misread/mis-plan this whole thing?

Not a big deal either way, as we are only planning on two FP's during our pre-party MK time. I would just prefer to know either way, so I can focus on other things

Help!, and thanks in advance!

Because you won't be entering a park during regular hours on the 8th, reassign the Party Tickets back to you and your wife.

Then, if Disney has not tweaked this for MVMCP tickets, you'll be able to book FPs.

If you can book FPs, just use your regular MBs at the FP lines and the party entrance.

You don't need the phantoms because your Party isn't occurring on one of your regular park days.

Please report back if the system does not allow FPs for your specific Party day.

The problem we are having is that we have already used our FP+ allotment from our 6 day PH's. When we were booking FP+'s earlier this morning, I thought as you did, and initially made FP's for the 8th, but then could not make FP's for one of our other days. My wife called WDW, and only after canceling the FP's for the 8th were we able to book FP's for all 6 days within Nov. 9 to the 14th.

That is why I have reassigned the party tix to the phantoms. (And I am of course planning to use the party tix to enter on the 8th, as I obviously do not want WDW thinking I am using one day of 6-day PH's when we enter at 4 PM.)

What this means then is that Disney has tweaked this and is no longer allowing FPs for MVMCP to tickets.

Another DISer has also reported this.

The only way you can confirm this is true is keep them linked to the phantoms and see if you can book at 30 days out. The odds don't seem very good because those with MNSSHP tickets could use them to book FPs when their 60-day window opened.

@JohnneeO - If you have the plastic Party tickets, they are permanently linked to you and your wife.

The phantoms would need a MB to enter the party.

So, at 30 days out, if you can't book FPs, and I don't think you'll be able to, reassign the ticket entitlements back to you and your wife so that you can enter the Party by using your MB.

Are there any reports where party ticket only worked for FP+ at MVMCP?

Our family has NE tickets which will have days remaining on the day we are going to MVMCP, so I don't believe that we will have an issue with reserving FP+ even though we are using the party entitlement only to enter at 4. But my parents only have 2 day tickets, which will be used up before the party, so they only have the party ticket remaining that day. I may have to come up with an alternate plan (since our reservation day is coming up next week), but I was wondering something. If they use the 2 day tickets to book FP+ for one day they plan on using them and the party day, will the party day reserved FP+ vanish once both days of the ticket are used? If not, could they have those reserved, and then on the day that none are reserved ahead of time book 3 from a kiosk? Thanks.

There have been reports that MVMCP are NOT working to book FPs 60 days in advance.

The FP will remain for at least a day and a half without a valid ticket linked.

The kiosk works too. As long as FP isn't pre-booked for a specific day, a ticket can be used at a kiosk to obtain a set of 3 FPs for that day.

I have seen your reports (or your posts about reports :) ) of MVMCP tickets not working. I was just wondering if it was 100% not working, or it may not work. If it works, I can report back next Wednesday.

Assuming it doesn't work, day and 1/2 will be perfect. They will use the last ticket entitlement on their ticket 1 day before the party. And our first day will not have any high priority FP+. At least it is a back up option. Hopefully, they don't fix any more glitches between now and then. Thanks.

Please do report back if it does indeed work and especially if it doesn't. :)
Thanks!

My friend and I have linked MDE with our 4 day park hoppers and MVMCP tickets attached to our own accounts. Last Monday I was able to make our 4 days of fp plus fp for our party day of the 7th. I just logged in and they are all still there, 5 days of fp.

Thanks for reporting! I think it is dependent upon when Disney tweaked the MVMCP tickets. Those with MNSSHP have been able to book for the specific Party day.

Did you purchase them as soon as they were available?

Yeah, I bought them within the first week or two and linked them as soon as I got them in the mail. I didn't realize that was the trigger, interesting.

Thanks! Now to figure out if it's just based on when they tweaked the remaining alottment of MVMCP tickets or if it's based on type: plastic, Will Call, or e-ticket Print at Home.

Probably based on date of tweaking.

If it helps, I just looked at my letter the tickets were attached to and it was dated May 10.

OP here, It turned out I was waaayyyy overthinking this whole thing.

We are still in the 30-60 day window, so I assigned the MVMCP tickets back to myself, my wife, and my children on MDE (my wife had made 6 days worth of FP+ reservations on our 6-day PH tickets). Interestingly, I was able to make FP+'s for my wife and myself for the MVMCP day, but not my kids, as MDE claimed they did not have resort reservations. That's when I realized my "kids" in my profile were not the same "kids" in my wife's profile with the resort reservation. A quick call last night to web support updated my profile so that my kids on my profile were the same as the kids on the resort reservation, then I was able to make the FP+'s on the MVMCP day no problem.

We ended up with a 3:25-4:25 for It's a Small World, 4:25-5:25 for Peter Pan's Flight, and 5:30-6:30 for Jungle Cruise. (We are not going to worry about rushing to make the first FP+.)

Sorry for all the drama!

I was able to do the same - made FP for the day. 3:30 Big Thunder, 4:30 Splash and 5:30 for Pirates.

I made a 5:45-6:45 FP for 7DMT on our MVMCP day, is that OK? I thought I remember seeing somewhere that FP after 6:30 were getting deleted, but I didn't know if that was the start or end time. We plan on checking in right at 5:45 so we can wait in line for the 7D M&G as soon as we get off.

It's the end time.
