Using multiple tickets to upgrade to AP?

Can I use the amount from multiple tickets and apply them to an AP? I have five tickets that I bought for a trip in November. Can I take those five tickets and upgrade them to two AP’s or can I only upgrade each ticket for one AP? Can you upgrade at the end of a trip or do you need to do it in the beginning?

The rule has always been one ticket can be applied for each AP purchased.

AFAIK, you must complete the upgrade no later than 14 days from the first use of the original ticket or prior to the end of the park day for the last entitlement, whichever comes first.

The AP year begins on the same date the original ticket was first used.

I do not know if they allow you to upgrade to a Sorcerer Pass (or other less expensive annual pass) if you used the original ticket during a black out period. They used to allow it, but I THINK they now require the upgrade to be an IncrediPass.

Unfortunately, Disney permits the use of only a single previously-sold ticket, per park guest, when exchanging rickets. The ticket being exchanged must previously unused or otherwise still be valid for additional park entries/upgradable. The transaction must be for the individual associated with the original ticket.

The expiration date is set based on when you first used the original ticket, so upgrading at the end may not be helpful. Even Disney use to recommend upgrading at the end if you needed to use the original ticket during a block-out date, which would be the only scenario that I'd attempt it. The worst case is that you'd have to purchase the Incredi-pass, which is what you'd have to do for those dates anyway.

Definitely can only use one ticket toward a new ticket or pass….and, there is no reason to wait because you will backdate to the first day you entered the park…and, in 2021, they eliminated the loophole that allowed people to upgrade a pass used during a block out period to a pass that blocked those dates,,,,

So does this mean that the 2 day tickets that we have for April 14-15 can be applied to an upgrade to an Incredipass? We’re out of state so that’s the only option for us and I was planning on purchasing AP anyway.

I assumed that because my date to purchase isn’t until April 20 that we would just have to eat the cost of the original tickets, but is it possible we’ll just pay the difference to upgrade?

If so, that would be amazing! Could I also do it while I’m there next weekend or do I still need to wait until April 20?

This one may be a bit complex.
If you use your two day tickets completely prior to the 20th they will have not value to upgrade. It is the same as trying to use tickets used 6 months ago for an upgrade.

It is possible a CM might spread some fairy dust, but far from a guarantee.

It might be worth exploring upgrading your two day tickets to 10 day tickets with a last usage day on of after the 20th, making them valid for the 30th and thus eligible for applying to an upgrade.

If you useboth days, then no, it won’t be valid because it will have no more days left on it.. However, you can check with GR and see if they will allow you to add more days to it when you get there so it becomes a 7 day ticket with a use by date after the 20th and then see if you would then be to upgrade from home,

Typically, a pass that has been used must be upgraded in person…but they may have changed the rules.

Since sales are not starting until the 20th, you won’t be able to buy until then.

So what’s tricky with adding days is that we are being forced to buy these 2 days because the military tickets we have are blacked out. We are using a military ticket on Sunday.

Maybe GR will help me sort through the best way to do it to be cost efficient. We have 3 days left on the military ticket and we’ve got these 2 extra days as well.

Is there a GR office in Disney Springs or do I have to do it when I get to a park?

Thanks all!

No one is forcing yiu to purchase a ticket. You are choosing to purchase a ticket because you want the benefit. It is unfortunate a less expensive ticket is nog available.

I am sure if there is a different way they can help…the good news is that the April days were not block out dates for Sorcerer so changing that ticket to a longer pass so yoy can then exchange for AP is a plus..

The worst case is that you can’t upgrade by phone a partially used ticket so then extending it won’t make any sense.

Nope, they aren’t and that wasn’t even the point of my post, but I’ll play along.

“Choose to”
“Get to”
“Have to”
“Will need to”
“Required to”

Regardless, my question was centered around not knowing that I could apply the 5 days of tickets I currently have toward the upgrade of an Annual Pass, so I wanted more information on how to do so.

And if you have military tickets and two day tickets, you can’t use both..even if they allow you to upgrade partially used tickets from home.

I would also double check about the military ones, because I thought I remember reading that those can not be changed or upgraded.

I’ve researched and the military ones we have can be applied to an upgrade.

Had a great chat with the Ticket Center reps at Disney Springs when we arrived. Updating the thread in case anyone needs it for future reference. As I shared, I am working with 2 sets of current tickets that could be upgraded to an annual AP when it opens for out of state folks next week. The military tickets could be upgraded but they recommended against this option since the first ticket was used in January. As someone mentioned earlier, the AP renewal back dates to the first date of use. The military tickets can be used anytime within a year, so we used 2 in January for MW weekend, 1 this weekend for Springtime Suprise, and the last 2 will be used in November for Wine & Dine. Upgrading would connect my AP to January for renewal.

The 2 day tickets I'm using this weekend (because of blackout dates) would need to be extended to 5 day tickets. This would allow me to use them this weekend and call in on April 20 to upgrade to apply the purchase cost to an AP that renews in April. Essentially, I'd be paying for half of the AP now for the ticket extension and then the other half next week when the AP opens.

The final option was to just purchase a new AP and use the voucher within the year and choose when would be the best time to activate and not link it to any current tickets we hold. We have trips planned for November and next January already. I'm leaning toward this option just to have more flexibility. Our travel plans between May-August are pretty much set so I don't anticipate us being able to come to FL before Sept. Seems silly to upgrade now and then not use the passes again until September or possibly even November since I could not come in October.

Thanks for the info! I agree..I’d go with the voucher and activate later!!!

I was able to upgrade Pixie AP’s to Sorcerer and also apply a ticket purchased for a for father’s day in June. So these are two tickets per person. I had to be transferred ticketing and could not do it on the website. I was on hold for quite a while 3 hours total on the 13th.

Just to clarify for others When you upgrade or renew a ticket, they allow you to use to use another ticket toward it.

But, they won’t allow you to use two different tickets to pay for a new ticket, upgrade, or renewal.

So, what they won’t allow is someone to use two park hopper tickets to put toward one.

But they will allow you to exchange 7 10 day PH+ tickets for 6 Sorcerer passes. At least they did for me. Money is money.
