I know I saw a thread where someone had posted the number to call to use multiple gift cards to purchase DVC AP's and now I can't find it. I want to buy $900 in GC's from Target (at a cost of $855) and use them to buy 2 AP's for DH and I. I will need 18 cards and I know that you can only use two forms of payment if you purchase via Member Services.

Can someone help? I would like to buy the tickets before the rumored (and almos guaranteed to happen before my trip) price increase.

Thanks!

Just did this yesterday at the downtown disney guest services. She said it was three forms of payment. I had 10 $50 GC from target, 2 $500 GC from kroger, $120 from my disney rewards card and the rest on my disney visa. So yup did it yesterday. And they had the RFID annual passes there too!

There's a difference in how they handle Gift Cards in person and by phone. In person 12 Disney Gift Cards would be considered ONE form of payment, where by phone each gift card is counted separately.

Can you buy a $500 gift card? That's what I did when Giant Eagle had 20 cent fuel perks and then I used it to call for my PAP under the DVC promo.

Heres the quote from that thread:

You can bypass Member Services and call the Ticketing Office directly at (407)566-4985 option 5 and tell them you are DVC and want PAP's.

Hope that helps :thumbsup2

I just went through this a few weeks ago and they would not allow. I hope it does work for you but don't count on it.

I called the ticketing office today to confirm that I can use 18 gift cards on one transaction. I told the CM that I was a DVC member and that I wanted to verify the information before I go out and buy $900 worth of gift cards. She told me that I need to call MS first and they will route me to the ticketing office. She confirmed that MS can only process *2* forms of payment but that the ticketing office *can* handle 18 gift cards:goodvibes. She said that MS likes to "make a notation when a member buys an annual pass". So, I think what I will do is buy $450 of gift cards first and try this route with one pass. If I am successful, I will repeat it for the second one. If not, I will have $400 in gift cards to spend on my food at the F&W festival:thumbsup2.

just curious, is Target running a special on gift card purchases? I will head there to buy mine if so.

I don't know of any, but yes, this is where I buy mine:). I know that when there is a price increase, I usually have about 48 hours to act so I want to make sure that I have the gift cards ready. I might just go out this weekend and grab up a few.

I asked because you mentioned in your original post that $900 worth of gift cards would cost $855 so just wondering how that worked?

Ah...the Target RedCard (either credit OR debit) gives an automatic 5% discount on everything when you use it. At Target, the gift cards for other merchants (Disney, Olive Garden, iTunes, etc) are considered "entertainment cards" so they ARE eligible for the 5% discount. So, when I buy $900 worth of gift cards, I get 5% off so I only pay $855:thumbsup2.

Once in a while, Target sends out a coupon for 5% off IN ADDITION to the 5% you get when you use the card. I bought $800 worth of gift cards for my MF's last year with this coupon. It was $800 - 5% = $760 and then the additional 5% off that brought my total to $722. So I saved about $78 off my MF's.

The biggest hassle is the fact that the largest denomination they sell is $50. It would be nice if they sold $100 cards.

Bunch of us had no problem back in December calling Ticketing directly. Maybe just an accounting thing for MS, but I'm sure it won't be an issue. The gentleman was great when I called, only need to tell him the last 8 digits of each card, since the rest of the numbers were the same, quick and painless :thumbsup2

Just got one of those in the mail a few weeks ago and used it on Saturday. Only bad thing is that the coupon is limited to $50 in savings! :thumbsup2
