Has anyone had any experience using MS to purchase Airline tickets?

Yesterday I called MS to check on tickets for our trip next February. I had already checked on Expedia and NWA sites.

I was suprised to learn that MS wasn't even seeing the flights available that the other two sites had.

Does anyone know why?

Is there any discount that Disney gets for booking the airfare through them?

Thanks,

Clark Averill

I've used MS twice for airline tickets; once on Delta and just recently on American. They had seats available on flights that Expedia and Travelocity showed as full and saved me about $50 over buying online. I don't think they offer a discount per se but I believe they own or have access to a pool of seats on several airlines. I could be wrong about this but I've been happy both times and calling MS sure beats calling a travel agent or trusting your credit card number to the whims of the ethernet... (last time I called, I got to listen to Splash Mountain while I was on hold)

I have used dvc 3 times for airfare, (now I do it directly through Delta because I'm a skymiles member) but I always found DVC to be very easy and helpful, they always looked for the best rates for me, and they were always pretty good rates! they do have access to all the diffeent airlines.

Not sure what the problem was with your flights. Usually MS comes up with a price that's less than what I see when I check on Expedia. I pretty much take the same flights but have always used MS and found them able to get me my seats and with good pricing. Same with rental cars done through them.

We used MS for our airfare once in 1999. The CM was very helpful and was able to tell me that by staying one more day we'd be able to save about $75 per ticket. We ended up adding a day to our trip, staying the extra night and still coming out ahead.

A few months ago I called MS about airfare for our trip in June. The CM was only able to give me information and prices I had already found on Travelocity. Later, when I booked the airfare I went ahead and did it online. In hindsight I probably should have gone through Member Services - I've read they're great about notifying us of any changes to our flight plan. Oh well. There's always a next time. ;)

Called MS once for airfare prices and got the same exact price as calling the airlines directly
