Fixing to buy UT's buy 4 days get the 5th free deal, will not need the 5th day. Can I use that 5th day ticket to enter another park. Say we go to AK, then want to go to MK afterwards, will that work?

If you have a 5 day ticket, no. If you had a four day ticket and a separate one day ticket, then yes. But I don't think that's what you're getting.

Nope, sorry. One of the most commonly-asked questions on these boards. You are buying days, not park entries.

Sorry, as the PP said, if you wanted to go to two or more parks in one day you will need to purchase the Park Hopper option.

On our last trip I tried to do this, thinking it was okay. We couldn't scan through the gate. We had been at MK in the morning and wanted to go to EP for dinner. We went to Customer Service and explained what happened. The lady was pretty firm that it was not allowed. I explained that we had dinner reservations there and after a "you can never do this again" speech, she verified our ressie and let us in. I told her to please feel free to deduct a day from our tickets, as I was not trying to scam Disney but she said they couldn't do that and not to worry about it.

1) Nope.
2) What you are trying to do is
. . . get a free ticket (the 5th day)
. . . use the free ticket to park hop
. . . avoid paying the extra Park Hopping Fee

Well that's you told then! :rotfl: Seriously, as Mesaboy pointed out, this is a common question and logically, to someone who had never thought to ask, there would appear to be no reason why you can't do this.On that basis it would be helpful if vendors would have this noted in the terms. I know many people don't read things but I do and don't specifically recall reading this anywhere.

Bottom line is, you weren't the first and you won't be the last. Glad you got your dinner in the end

UT and Disney both have it specifically written on their ticket purchase pages.

UT: "Visiting more than one Theme Park on the same day requires the "Park Hopper" Option (available below and the tickets cost more)."

WDW: "Multi-day tickets (2- to 10-day tickets) are valid for admission to any one of the 4 theme parks per day."

I think UT's version is much more clear.

Thanks for clearing that up. Perhaps they need to make it more clear then? I buy my tickets as part of a package and assumed the same terms would be in there as the standalone tickets, but they may well be and I have just not worried about them as we have hoppers.

My thinking is this... why would Disney even offer a hopper option if you could do the same thing with base tickets? It makes no sense.

It would depend on how many "days" were on the original ticket that would make it appear to be more or less expensive to use an "extra day" vs. the Hopper.

OT: Would Disney consider inventing a special consideration entry service charge? This would apply for the above situation and also if the park you wanted to enter had reached capacity. There may be a restriction that you could enter no more than 30 minutes before your reservation. There might even be a refund if you left the park immediately after your meal, the way the time is computed has yet to be figured out and might use your register receipt.

Special consideration entry would specifically exclude using your Fastpass Plusses as the reason.
