Using ME flying out of Canada

I was told by Air Canada and us customs at MCO we had to collect our own bags and take to the ME counter?????

We flew Westjet, never asked, didn't think it would be so easy. But there we were in Orlando with this lovely man from disney, telling us not to worry, they would take care of it. We didn't, they did.

O.k we flew from Toronto and were told we had to collect our own bags and take them through security and drop them off at the ME counter where you have to check in before getting on a bus to your resort. After that we didn't see them again until the hotel room about 4 hours later. That was fine because it was a 920 am arrival in MCO. So....if we hadn't collected our bags at the carousel they would've still made it to the hotel???? I was told by Air Canada and us customs at MCO we had to collect our own bags and take to the ME counter?????

If you are told upon landing at MCO that you need to reclear baggage or clear baggage through customs on the spot, you will at least for a moment have your baggage in your hands.

Now you have the choice of giving it back to the baggage handlers for automatic resort delivery (save having to schlep it on the airport tram), or keeping it and carrying it to the ME bus (gets it to the resort quicker, with you).

We used ME in february, we arrived at Disney, checked in and went to our room. We went for a swim for an hour and the bags were in our room when we got back. There was one bag mixed up with another guest, which was fixed in the time it took me to go to buy my mugs and come back to the room. Need I say more. Of coure we packed a small bag just in case, but didnt need it.

Here is my dilemma, we are a family of 6, 4 children under the age of 10! We find it very stressful to go through airport with our luggage, cause there is a lot of luggage! Last time we went AC from pearson to MCO, we were staying of site and renting vechicle, my husband and I were very stressed out! This time we are flying out of Buffalo to MCO, and staying onsite. My dilemma is we would love disney to handle our bags, but our flight arrives at 1215 AM!!!
Do ya think if we bring our jammies with us on our carry on (cause we are definetly just checking in and going to bed!), this would be ok, and will they wake us up to deliver our bags or will they wait closer till the morning? What would you do?

I believe that when you check in you can ask them to deliver your bags in the morning. We have had friends who have done this. They called the front desk in the morning when they were awake and the bags were then delivered.
