Using MapQuest to get to DL from SLC

Has anyone ever used Mapquest to get to DL from Salt Lake City? How reliable is it and did it take you on any toll roads? I have the ability to upload Mapquests directions to OnStar in my car and use its turn by turn navigation. Its been YEARS since Ive driven to DL and dont want to get lost. Thanks.

We have driven there quite a few times in the last few years and have never had a problem with getting lost. Basically you just drive south on I15 til CA60 and then CA57, I dont recall ever seeing a toll road in our travels down there so they must be easy to avoid.

I plan to use Mapquest's directions for our upcoming trip. Perhaps I'll bring my mom's iphone with me ~ she has a GPS app *she rarely uses her phone - no reason for her to have such a nice one.

We have used mapquest to get directions from Salt Lake to DL and the above poster is right. It is I-15 almost all the way there and then you get on a couple different CA freeways and you are there. It did not send us on any toll roads.

You know it's really easy.

I-15 south.

You can get on I-10W but CA-60 is a few more miles south and faster. However last week I wish I had known but between the two intersection with 15 there was contruction and taking I-10 would of been faster.

Anyhow assuming you go the normal way CA-60 merges into CA-57. Makes sure you stay on CA-57 going south when CA-60 divides off.

One on CA-57 look for your exit, probably either Ball Rd. Or Katella.


Also I would suggest Bing/maps.

It has a really simple map program, and you can drag the line which is your route to other roads to see if it is shorter or faster.

We took the 210 it seemed a little faster not as much traffic.

I think the other one we tried was 90 is was fine coming in but when we went to leave disneyland in afternoon it was bumper to bumper traffic.
