using Magical Express & renting a car?

I imagine this has been discussed before, but I don't have much luck with the search function anymore, so it is just easier to create a new thread.

We have never used Magical Express - we always rent a car. On our trip in August their will be 8 of us and a lot of luggage to go with 8 people and we still plan on renting a car because we will be doing stuff outside of WDW. Is is possible for everyone but me to use magical express, because I am going to go get the rental car? It would be great if 7 people and all the luggage could go with Magical Express and I could go get the rental car and meet everyone back at the hotel to check-in. Is this possible?

Yep, it's very possible. You go off and get the car, the rest of the group would just head to the checkin area. Only one person has to wait in the checkin line! Everyone else can sit in the lounge area. Then, when that one person has checked everyone in, they all go to the appropriate bus line. Be sure that one person has everyone's vouchers though.

So when you say check-in, you are referring to check-in for Magical Express? Just want to be sure, since I have never done it. Will it make any difference that the trip reservation is under my name and I will be gone getting the car? Or do they just have everyone's names that is doing the Magical Express and that is what they are checking? Can my luggage go with Magical Express too, since the rest of the party will be?
